In "Present at a Hanging and Other Ghost Stories," Briscoe explains how paranormal activity is more than a misery, death in a location, because he mentions how paranormal activity is a disappearance or a life after death situation. He tells the story of William Holt, who saw a figure of his wife holding her child at 11:25pm. The next morning, William found out that they died in a house fire at 11:25pm.
