There are many terms that are relevant to free will and determinism including indeterminism: hard/soft determinism, chaoticism, and randomness. All of these terms are considered based on an antecedent causal condition of events, which the occurrence of the event in the past can determine the event at present, and the possibility of events. Free will as human freedom accepts the antecedent condition that exists but may not relate to the event at present because humans have right to make choices and to choose to do depending on power, persuasion and situated freedom. Determinism accepts that the event at present must be dictated absolutely by the antecedent causal conditions in the past that have sufficient and efficient causes to explain this event. Regarding in the indeterminism, hard determinism is the pure determinism, while soft determine believes that the antecedent causal condition may exist but human can make choices and decide based on the causality in the past. The chaoticism denies the antecedent causal relationship and accepts …show more content…
Obviously, the concept of free will affects the research methodology and the researcher. Free-will can generate different theories and new knowledge through the reductive process and the sensible principle. Thus, the pragmatism seems to be instrument for express the meaning of a concept. As a result, the researchers influence significantly the pragmatism analysis because the researchers have to find out a rationale for designing choices through inquiry using and few denoting pragmatism as an ideological framework. By this, the researchers need to have free will in oneself such as opening our mind, focusing on reasonable, without prejudice, and taking a responsibility for making a
