Both teachers are present in the front of the classroom and share equal responsibility. The major strength in this approach is that it allows for both teachers to incorporate their strengths as teachers. Teachers are able to bounce ideas off of each other and introduce different approaches to the instruction. The first is called station teaching; in this approach the content and students are broken into three different segments. The teachers each work with a group and the last group is given the chance to work independently. Throughout the lesson the groups of the students rotate from station to station so that they are able to complete all parts of the lesson. The strengths of this approach is that both teachers are actively engaged and are able to work with small groups and tailor to the individual students. Using this method also allows teachers the chance to separate students with behavioral problems, and allows for a more cooperative learning experience. In this approach a couple of problems can arise, for the students they must be able to work in a group independently and keep an appropriate noise level in the classroom.
