I plan to do my training with the National Youth Sports Coaches Association program. NYSCA consists of two training components; coaching youth sports and a sport specific training. The clinic for coaching youth sports will cover areas such as: Teaching Good Sportsmanship, Being a Positive Role Model, Building Confidence, Working with Athletes with Special Challenges…etc. Once that training is complete the next step would be to view a sports-specific training. NYSCA offers training in twelve of the top team Sports. A coach must choose one sport that they wish to study further in. Once the initial training is complete the coach is allowed to train in other sports as well. The NYSCA program will demonstrate all the important aspects that I will need in order to be a successful coach. For example, ways on how I can motivate children to perform the task, getting parents involved, teaching safety, hydration, building confidence within the children. The NYSCA training program is the perfect learning foundation for early coaches. It will teach the responsibilities of what it takes to be a successful coach in addition to holds them liable to a Code of Conduct defined by the NYSCA Coaches ' Code of Ethics

Have you noticed that Physical Education seems to be a narrowing field? I strongly believe that there is a reason we need to keep PE in schools and in society today. Unfortunately, I feel as though many of the educators and teachers today aren’t taking it seriously. They aren’t doing enough to help the students become physically active, instead, the teachers just sit there because it is a job to them, nothing more. If the teachers had a better personal philosophy on what they actually want to teach, then I feel like PE would be a much stronger field and everyone would want it around.…

While most experts agree that ESS is essential in achieving elite level, there is a major debate as to whether such intense practice are necessary during early childhood and to the prohibiting of only participating in a single sport to maximize potential success (Ferrari, 2018). There is a developing concern within ESS, that before an athlete reaches adolescence they may be deleterious to a young athlete (Jayanthi, 2013). Sport specialization is progressively becoming more popular amongst youth and commonly involves participation from athletes as young as 8 years old, with athletes primarily focusing on level of success within their performance. The ESS trend has been encouraged by the assumption that focusing on a single sport from the early age of…

Throughout this theme I have learnt many things that will help me to work with children in the future, for example, I have learnt about the importance of genetics in a child’s physical development and how much it can actually affect a child in reaching their milestones, although this is important I have also learnt how important nurture is to a child’s physical development, the theorists I have researched helped me to gain more knowledge and understanding on both nature and nurture and how it affects a child’s physical development, this raised further questions for me on what type of genetic conditions affect a child’s physical development and growth and how badly it may affect the child and how it affects their everyday life, because I understand how genetics affect a child’s physical development this will help me to improve my practice as I can empathise with the child and as I gain more experience within childcare settings it will continue to help improve my…

Response to Lauren It is very true that it is always easier to write about something you know well, like about your life and personal experiences. When the topic is not familiar to students, then they need to do research to stimulate their writing. It is important to show ELLs how to do research and how to use it, so students start getting more confident and less scare about a blank paper. Response to Ana Villanueva I am happy that my students in physical education class are not the only ones that complain about writing in class that is not English language arts.…

Youth sports have been a very popular recreation in America. It allows kids to have the chance to play a sport at a young age. However, many of the kids only play a single sport, and the types of adults that either spectate or coach youth sports are mainly split into two opposing sides. One half helps the kids to succeed in the sport they are playing and let the kid choose if they want to play that sport, and the other half force the child to play a sport that they may not like and gravitate towards the child’s every mistake like a moth to a flame. This can cause many problems for the child and can often be overwhelming.…
