Peru is a sovereign state located in Western South America on the coast of the Pacific Ocean.

In March of 2017, Peru was severely affected by flooding caused by the rains of El Niño. This is a picture of rescue workers cleaning up the mud brought by the flooding.

In April of 2017, a 5.8 magnitude earthquake struck the northernmost region of Peru. The earthquake could be felt in neighboring countries of Ecuador and Colombia. This map shows the epicenter and diffusion of the earthquake.

In May 2017, over 5,000 Venezuelan citizens have applied for temporary residence permits in Peru to escape their declining economy. Here is a picture of Venezuelan citizens holding their temporary residence permits.

Peru is currently in Stage 2 of the Demographic Transition Model as illustrated by their population pyramid.
Peru is considered a unitary state because all the power is held by the national government in the capital city of Lima, Peru. This is a picture of the Presidential Palace in Lima.

The folk culture of Peru mainly derives from the history of the Incas, indigenous to Peru. Folk culture in Peru can be mainly represented by; the Inti Raymi festival, the Scissors Dance, and payments to the Earth. This picture is showing The Inti Raymi festival.

The main agriculture pratices of Peru include; shifiting cultivation, intensive subsistence non-wet rice dominant, small portions of plantation farming, and a small area of commercial gardening. This map illustrates the different types of agriculture in the Western Hemisphere.

The primary sector is most prominent in Peru with mining and agriculture, the secondary sector is less prominent with the textile industry, and the tertiary sector is the least prominent in Peru, with very little service-sector businesses. This map shows the industries of Peru and their
