However, this persuasive technique is very abusive in any manner it is used. Personal Attack usually involves one person becoming so desperate in a situation (i.e. a fight amongst relatives) that they resort to attacks that they would never even consider saying. This in turn brings power to the individual using this technique. When someone uses a Personal Attack, it is not usually directly supporting the current cause or argument. It is often something that strikes deep at the victim, causing them to stumble on their argument and therefore folds into the attacker. This gives the attacker a feeling of control and power. Peer pressure or even mass ignorance could lead to a false idea being adopted by a lot of people. A good example of this is, Billy doesn't like chocolate milk. But all his friends do; therefore, in order to be closer to his friends Billy lies and says he like chocolate milk as well. Advertising is another good example of this because some products claim to be "number 1" or "most popular" or "best in the world", when it surely isn't.
