Polygamy is considered taboo today just like same-sex marriage was several years ago, constantly being mocked about. Again I ask, is polygamy a serious problem today? All that comes out of polygamy are negatives especially toward the women in the families. You say that polygamous relationships offer kids a better support system. Giving kids more people to talk to when they have a problem. Yet the women are treated terribly oftentimes having a lower status than the man of the house. They all have to submit to their husbands having little or no rights. Nothing. The ways things are right now is the way thing should and have to stay so the country stays as safe as possible and to better the future for the children of this country. The United States has strived over the years without polygamy so why all of a sudden is there a need for polygamy to be legalized? It will never be allowed. We will never allow it. The legalization of polygamy would have no effect on the United States today. Do you even know how many people support the campaign? Barely any, you know why? Because no one honestly cares and only 0.03 percent of the population is polygamous. Only 0.03 percent! That equates to 96,000 people thus proving that polygamy is not even a serious matter in today 's word. The best way to deal with polygamy is by not paying any attention to the matter. By continuously denying the rights of marriage to polygamists, safety will only rise and kids wouldn 't be forced into a lifestyle that they do not agree
