Should gay people be allowed to get married? This question has been the cause of a lot of controversy for the last few years. Whether it is because of religion, personal belief, or simply how we were raised, almost everyone has an opinion one way or another. My personal belief is that, regardless of whether they are a man and a woman in love, two men, or two women, two adults who are truly in love with one another should be allowed to legally be wed. My opinion is not biased in any way. I am of Christian faith, I am straight, and I have no gay family members or friends. The main reason is due to religion. The bible does say that homosexuality is a sin, but it also says lying is a sin, stealing is a sin, adultery is a sin. Many of the people opposing gay rights are guilty of some sin or another. Speaking from a religious standpoint, the bible also states that all sin is equal. That the liars and the adulterers of the world are not any better than the gays they are opposing. The best way to decides whether or not it is fair to deny someone any rights is to first put you in the position of the person being denied their rights. Anyone who says that it is okay to deny someone their rights has obviously never been denied something they really wanted.
People who are going against gay marriage are going against Marriage in general. My response to people who disagree with me would be: ‘’If you love someone and try to spend your whole life with that person, you should have the right to marry them.’’ Just think about a world where it is only legal to wed someone of the same sex, but you fell in love with someone of the opposite sex… how would you feel? Would you try to change the law? I do not blame people for trying to do it and that is why I support them in their fight for their rights… why would you deny their
