“Always slow down when you come to a railroad crossing
Every railroad crossing should be taken seriously.

Besides patrolling railroads, railroad officers do investigate varies crimes such as theft, vandalism, train/vehicle crash, arson, and fatalities. The highest incident involving railroads are related to trespassing and fatalities. Special Agent Black pointed out that one in every three hours, a person gets hit by a train throughout the state. Because people do trespass and horseplay on the tracks, people will often time be hit by a train which result in death. Besides trespassing and fatalities, train/vehicle crashes are the second most occurring incident.…
Not Horse Play Although the world of horses is a very elaborate one, most people do not know the real cost and responsibility of owning a horse. Most horse breeds are bred for specific reason whether it be for beauty or brains. There really is no animal quite like the horse given how many different variations exist. In my hometown, I live in a community that has a large drive for tourism due to the horse race track located about ten minutes from my house.…
Being near railroad crossings and railroads in general can be a very dangerous thing to be around. However, as long as we practice the right safety measures and precautions we can go past them without injury. To start there are road signs that you should always follow while driving near railroad crossings. At most railroad crossings there are crossing gates, flashing lights, and loud bells if to make sure you know that a train is approaching. You should never go around them because a train will come and they have a very difficult time stopping quickly, so if you were to get stuck on the tracks there would be nothing that the train could do.…
Rail Road Crossings can pose a serious danger to those driving in vehicles that don't listen or pay attention to rail-way crossings. It is a simple law of physics that tells us that if a train and vehicle collide, the vehicle is going to lose every time. There are many things that I learned I should do to help keep myself and my passengers safe when driving around trains. First, you should always slow down when you come to a railroad crossing.…

The California High Speed Railroad is a railroad managed by the HRSA (The California High Speed Railroad Authority.) Its purpose is to connect the mega regions of California. Sounds like a good plan? Well, there are some negative reasons why this railroad should not be built. The railroad should not be built for the following reasons: There is Still No Legitimate Funding Plan; the Costs Look Like nothing what the Voters Approved, and Shrinking Ridership Numbers.…
The Transcontinental Railroad won our tournament because it was very helpful for all of us. It made all of our lives easier and faster. It did not surprise me because it changed the 1900s so much to make shippings easier. All of our roles in my group used it very much. The farmer could ship cattle.…

The indian removal act it was a political and military action proposed by the seventh president of the United States Andrew Jackson on removing the Native Americans (Indians) by force from their home land, which today is the state of Georgia, and move them to the West of Mississippi and Oklahoma. Edward Everett, Massachusetts politician, was against the removal act by forced and claimed: “Nations of dependent Indians, against their will, under color of law, are driven from their homes into the wilderness. You cannot explain it; you cannot reason it away.... Our friends will view this measure with sorrow, and our enemies alone with joy.” Although the Cherokee tried to maintain their territory and a good relationship with the US Government by assimilating to american-european culture, in the early 19th century the state of Georgia forced itself on the Cherokee Nation territory…
The transcontinental railroad was a massive achievement for our country; its many accomplishments included expanding settlement, providing valuable jobs, and spurring immigration. Before the railroad was constructed, settlements were mostly established on the east coast. There were, however, a few settlements out west as a result of the California Gold Rush, but there was nothing in between. Traveling the 2,000 miles to California from the eastern region of the United States took five hard and often deadly month due to lack of proper transportation. After the Civil War ended, the railroad provided jobs that many returning war veterans desperately needed.…
The escape of a slave to a free state was known as a free runaway, the route taken by those slaves to freedom, were underground, planned and protected by slaves and free black and white men. Described to be known as runaway railroads, freeing slaves before the creation of the Underground Railroad. As stated previously in this paper, the accomplishment of the Underground Railroad laid on the collaboration of previous runaway slaves, free-conceived blacks, Native Americans, and white and dark abolitionists who helped manage runaway slaves along the courses and gave their homes as places of refuge. These sanctions were already in place and were freeing slaves for decades. The escape of a slave to a free state was known as a free runaway, the…
Despite what many people may believe, the Underground Railroad was not a railroad, nor was it actually underground. It obtained its name from the process in which it ensued. It used railway terms and was done with many disguises, as well as gave the people involved names like “conductors”. The time of slavery is a time that can now be considered a time of darkness in American history, and it completely abolished the reputation of the white man to African men. The Underground Railroad was a network that gave slaves a chance for hope and freedom by giving them an escape route to the more northern parts of the United States of America, Canada, or even Mexico.…
MagnetMom complains about how her daughter’s homework takes away her beneficial sleep. With busy families, like hers, they have many after school activities, so when they get home, they do not have time for too much homework. She says that the reality of it is that they are an active family. For active families, homework causes sleep deprivation and takes away the children’s energy they need for the next day. (“How Homework Affects Families”, pg. 1).…
