Firearms have been used for hundreds of years in wars to get the upper hand on their
Enemies. The military with the newest, strongest firepower usually wins the fight. Now many people today think military firearms are a cool toy, however the reality is that firearms kill hundreds of people each day and thousands each year and a lot of the time its accidental shootings. Firearms are a deadly thing if not used properly, gun owners should get training on how to safely use them, how they work and what happens when you pull the trigger. Also people should practice shooting and practice safety skills, it would eliminate a lot of the accidental shootings. Firearms can be a lot safer if everyone would get training on how they work, how to respectfully use them and how to use them safely to teach their kids about them. Also how to help someone around them that has been shot. This would make having firearms and kids in the same house a lot safer.

Thousand of young curious kids and older teens are shot every year from the miss use of a firearm and the child's lack of knowledge on the firearm. The safest way to own a gun and have children is to teach them at a young age about guns and the safety behind them. Kids are naturally curious and no matter how well you hide a gun they usually will find it and wanna look at it and play with it like their in a movie or game. Kids finding their parents firearm and being curious about them is how and why so many accidents happen , however if the child had knowledge on it and knew what it could do not what they saw a gun in a movie do, then they would know its not a toy and not to mess with is unless an adult is around to make sure they're doing it safely. Many people wonder if mentally ill people should be able to legally own and carry firearms. A lot of the mass shootings we have are done by people with mental disabilities and a lot of mental disabilities should keep people from obtaining, owning, or carrying a firearm. Some disabilities keep people from thinking smart and they make really bad decision. However their are mentally ill people that aren’t bad at all and are actually really down to earth good hearted people that learn to work with their disability and make the best outta every day. These people shouldn't have their 2nd amendment right taken away. If the illness someone has doesn't make them crazy and they don't make bad decisions then they

Gun control is a topic most American citizens do not like to debate about, but Ted Nugent a former singer and songwriter is not afraid of the topic. He is also a gun owner and supports gun owners’ rights. He claims if a country had a place where all responsible gun owner citizens lived there would be no crime, and if people mixed them with irresponsible gun owners who used guns for crime and harm that there would be a lot of crime. He explains in his own opinion, how it is a violation of our natural rights and against the second amendment, which states we have the right to bear arms as citizens. Gun control could be a necessity to keep people safe and there is going to be a look into this topic.…

Mass Shootings The anti-gun crowd would like us to believe that with more guns, comes more gun violence, but since more and more states have allowed people to carry a side arm, crime has declined. Can these things be a mere coincidence? Perhaps, but even if that’s true, it still proves that allowing law abiding citizens to be armed does not increase crime, and suggest that it contributes to lowering it instead (Federal Bureau of Investigation, n.d.). Something else to ponder is where do mass shootings occur?…

This is causing schools to increase security and prepare for a potential war against unknown individuals. This has shown a negative effect on a significant amount of students who now see school as unsafe. Metal detectors, security cameras, and many other security safeguards have been a regular necessity for schools. Instead of using these things as a last resort effort to prevent violence there needs to be a less invasive plan in place that limits the security presence on campuses without it being overwhelming.…

Guns are used all around the world, but here in the United States, we need to keep our gun usage limited with gun laws. Gun laws are put into action to make sure firearms are used responsibly; however, people will always find a way to break these laws no matter how many are made. Our Second Amendment, "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed”, gives U.S. citizens the right to own a weapon and use it for the right reasons. Gun laws will not reduce the amount of gun deaths in the U.S. because gun laws do not determine crime; gun ownership determines crime numbers. There were 460,000 gun deaths in the U.S. between 1999-2013 and this was the 12th leading cause of death.…

Going back to the idea that the government could take away all the firearms from civilians, we have to face the fact that even that would not protect anyone. Instead, it would put many people in danger. The law to take away guns would not affect criminals, because criminals do not follow the law. Without guns for protection, the law-abiding citizens would be helpless to defend themselves against the criminals who would now be the only citizens with guns. The law that was meant to protect would actually lead to the victimization and possible death of law-abiding citizens.…

After obtaining guns, children and adults collect them and proceed to improve their accuracy in shooting, but getting rid of them would make the world a dangerous place. Many people who believe that guns are the leading cause of death in the United States, are incorrect. A gun is not a person, it has no feelings nor can it move on its own it cannot be personified nor be blamed for any of the actions. A gun must be wielded by a person and that person is the one responsible for pulling the trigger. If guns were banned and somehow a criminal couldn’t get his hand on one illegally, they can still kill.…

On an average day in the United States 93 americans are killed by gun violence. There are also 1000’s of cases that involve a child being injured or killed by a stray bullet every year. Does this mean that guns are dangerous or does it mean we are using guns for the wrong intention? There are many reasons people use guns but like everything else some people use it for good and some for evil. Since the United States can't take away all of our guns I feel there should be some guns you should be able to purchase at your local store for self-defense or hunting and there are also some guns in which you should go through heavy background checks to be able to purchase.…

In recent years, a lot of debate had been going on about the laws pertaining to firearms. Unfortunately, with all of the mass shootings and killings being reported by the media, guns are given a bad reputation. Sadly, many people believe that they should be illegal because they are dangerous and can kill people, but what these people don’t realize is making them illegal will do a lot more harm than good. Guns have created a balance in society and if we were to take them away it could cause a lot of chaos which would result in more crime and more casualties. People deserve the right to bear arms because with proper training one could possibly save his/her life and also protect others.…
