Some of them also work for the evening to help accommodate their clients schedules. Some psychology professors have flexible schedules, but they have to work some heavily long hours. If a therapist had to do some research, those requirements have to be met even if they mean to work every single day till they meet their deadline.There are some therapist that also need to work full time. Some therapist can determine their own work hours if its their own work practice, but others that work in associations or a program, they are given hours that they need to complete. But most of the mental health counselors like to find any chance to fit in a appointment for their clients. Having a good listening ear is definitely a big need therapist must have. Family and marriage therapists “need to give their full attention to their clients to understand their problems” (Occupational). Not only do they need go listening skills, but they also need interception skills too. To be able to work with a variety of people is a good advantage. Therapist must be able to communicate with different types of people with different types of needs and different types of problems. They must also be creative and see the “client as a person, not a problem to be solved” (Cruising). Bringing creative ideas as to how to help the clients can help them reach their goals in life. One can not treat the clients issues as a formula that leads to the answer in a couple of simple steps. Furthermore, a dislike in being a therapist is the money. A person must have an “undergraduate and a graduate degree” (Cruising) and they must also have volunteer time and specific courses they need to choose to complete their training. Every therapist has to show the same enthusiasm in helping the patient to get a sense of relief. On the down side to being a therapist is the money that is wasted on getting to the goal. A large amount of money can and will be used up to complete the full degree in the mental health department. Depending on how many years a person plans to work for also
