No one has ever died from an overdose of marijuana, it is known as one of the safest therapeutically active substances. Some of the benefits of marijuana have been relief from nausea and appetite loss, reduction of intraocular (within the eye) pressure, reduction of muscle spasms, and relief from chronic pain. It is also very beneficial in the treatment of many conditions; such as, aids, hepatitis, glaucoma, epilepsy, cancer, and many more. Each of these applications has been deemed legitimate by at least one court, legislature, and or government agency. Many patients also report that marijuana is useful for treating arthritis, migraines, menstrual cramps, alcohol and opiate addiction, depression, and other mood disorders. People have been struggling with the things listed and have not been able to get a medical marijuana card. It also helps your memory and is known to help people who struggle with anxiety and depression, and can wipe out bad memories by dampening nerve cell action contributing to the anxiety stemming from remembered bad experiences. However, many people are saying marijuana should not be legalized because it causes more problems than benefits people. They say it is proved to affect brain development if it is used heavily by young people, its effects on thinking and memory may last a long time or even be permanent. Users of marijuana at a young age have revealed reduced connectivity among the brain areas responsible for learning and memory. These people assume all the effects of marijuana are negative the ones they mention are altered perception and mood, impaired coordination, difficulty with thinking and problem solving, and disrupted learning and memory. Some of these causes have been proved to be true: but I believe that it helps more than causes problems and it’s your own choice whether to use it or not; but the people who need it and helps them should be able to use it legally.
