The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution protects the right of the people to keep and bear arms. Guns are used for recreational activities such as hunting, competition shooting, and target shooting, but are also used for self and home defense, and firearms are used heavily by the government. While dangerous, firearms should not be controlled or banned in the US. Many people say that guns kill people, but the people pulling the trigger are the real issue. Taking guns would not fix the problem, but negatively affect our nation as a whole, starting with a more powerful government.
