Dogs Vs. Cats Believe it or not, your cat may not love you! But don’t worry, your dog still loves you. There are many reasons why dogs are better than cats. I’ve always been a dog person and have always wanted to prove that dogs are the better pet. Today, this essay is going to be doing exactly that. So get your bones and your chewed up shoes people, here we go. The first reason why dogs are better than cats is that they love you much more than cats do. According to Telegraph.Co.Uk, the love hormone, oxytocin is raised by 57% in dogs when they see their owners. Whereas in cats, it only raises by 12%. That is a big difference, and when humans see their loved ones, the hormone raises by 60%. That’s awfully close to dogs. Another website, Reuters.com, said that dogs were tested on if they tried to listen to people when they talked to them in different emotions and tones. The dogs did respond to several different emotions and tones in different ways, and when someone was just talking, the dogs would tilt their heads trying to understand them. It is known to most people that a lot of dogs are energetic and like to play or exercise. This usually means that their owners are to exercise or play with them. Fastcompany.com says, exercise helps with everything, it helps you live longer, you get sick less, and you’ll sleep better. Who would not want any of those traits in their life? But exercise is also good for your mental health. Exercise releases the hormone dopamine, which plays a role in happiness. Exercise also boosts your confidence which may make you happier as well.
