Persuasive Essay: Benefits Of Pay For Military Soldiers

Improved Essays
Did you know a military soldiers can get paid up to 1,531.50$ to 19,762.50$ a month; in today’s society that isn’t that much. Our military deserves better pay, treatment, and equipment. After all they protect and fight for us and our country. The least you could do is say “Thank you for your service,” but most people don’t even do that. Our military deserves more and you know it!

Military soldiers deserve better payment for what they do like risk their lives and do things not a regular person does. If their pay is not raised soldiers could have problems with paying for their house. The taxes don’t help either because the mortgage is already high so it just adds to the price. Some could have a family to support and have to pay for them as

They need more respect for what they do for this country and you. Whenever you see a military veteran or soldier you should say “thank you for your service” and most people don’t even do that. Soldiers and veterans make and have made more sacrifices than an everyday person. Many have faced traumatizing experiences and should be respected for what they do.

Military soldiers should also get better equipment in the field. If they get poor equipment it can affect the way they fight making them less affective in battle. Poor equipment could lead to health issues too. Like if given poor gas mask their lungs in the future could not function properly and have major problems. Or if given a poor weapon it could blow up in their face or not fire it’s bullets at the enemy and have no way to defend their selves

Despite what people say about the military like “Oh they don’t deserve to get this or that,” and disrespecting them, the people are wrong. People disrespect soldiers and veterans because they feel there is no justification for killing and they think that’s all the armed forces do when it isn’t. Soldiers have different jobs like being a PJ (combat rescue team) or a Heli pilot. Really there not killing for the fun of it there actually protecting women, children, their lives, and you too. If our military wasn’t here bad people would come and kill women, children, and innocent lives too. How bad would that

The GI Bill is a use-it-or-lose-it military benefit and expires 15 years from the day you leave active duty. In 2014, I would only have 4 years left to use the GI Bill, before the benefit would be lost to me forever. Fearing that one day I would regret not using this important benefit I decided to utilize it. Not being in school for the last 20 years, I decided I just wanted to get my foot wet first, so I decided to take the required real estate classes to be a mortgage broker. I decided to enroll in Palomar College because of its large size and reputation as a great real estate school.…

If we don’t have enough money to give soldiers today $200,000 then we will surely not have enough to pay the thousands of people who will join the military for the money. The government will also have to buy extra guns and supplies for the new people joining. The government spends $153.531 billion on the soldiers according to datab.us/i/military%20budget%20of%20the%20United%20States. If a lot more people joined the military that amount would at least double. As you can see, paying military soldiers as much as athletes would be as unthinkable as revising the laws of gravity.…

For years there have been soldiers who have been injured in the line of battle while defending our country. Some have been injured to a point where they do not have the ability to walk or have lost limbs in the line of duty. Despite the benefits veterans are currently eligible for and receiving, the Veteran’s Administration should be doing more for veterans. For some veterans it takes them several months just to get checked up at the VA. “Hundreds of veterans have waited months for medical attention at the VA.…

Today, less than one percent of the population of the United States of America puts on an uniform to protect the liberties of 99 percent of the rest of the population and just over 8 percent of the population of all living Americans are veterans. If we gaze into the eyes of a veteran we can see the love for their country, strength for their families and a courage that is indefinable. Their self-determination often provokes us to ask ourselves,"For their selfless service and willing sacrifice for their nation, what do veterans need and deserve to reestablish themselves in the society?" Indeed Abraham Lincoln, America's 16th president, formally recognized the importance of veterans with his second inaugural speech and famous quote,"To care for him who shall have borne the battle and for his widow, and his orphan." President Lincoln's promise to care for those who shall have borne the battle ought to be one of the greatest privileges of an American citizen.…
