Good morning fellow Anaheim High School colonists, I would like to start off by asking a few questions. How many animals did you see out in the streets as you were on your way to school this morning? How much more will you see going home today? And every other day? It may be the same animals for some people, but there are more than just one. The number of animals without homes has been increasing every day because the owners don’t watch their pets, or get them the help they need to prevent offspring. We can all help make a change by spaying and neutering our pets. Most pet owners give up their pet’s offspring because the cost to have then can get expensive. Depending on the shots and other needs they may have. With the costs going up, people tend to leave their dogs and offsprings in the pound and shelters. Some pet owners are lucky enough to sell them, but it may hurt the offspring and the pet parents separating them away from each other. Some of the pet owners don’t know how it feels for the offspring and pet parents feel when they are being separated away from them. By spaying your pet, you’ll help control the pet homelessness crisis, which results in millions of healthy dogs and cats being euthanized in the United States each year simply because there aren’t enough homes to go around. There are also medical and behavioral benefits of spaying (female pets) your animals. Some of the benefits that they have would be that female dogs won’t be in heat or get their menstrual cycle when they are spayed so they won’t make a mess everywhere. As well as being a bit calmer because of the fact that they won’t be in heat, and that normally attracts male dogs. By neutering, it sterilizes a male dog so he’s incapable of parenting puppies. Many great health and behavioral effects occur because he’s undergone “the big snip.” It’s a simple surgery, very different than spaying. Under anesthesia, an incision is made in front of the scrotum, and then the testicles are removed through that incision. The stalks of the testicles are cut. Sometimes the incision needs stitches. There are also medical and behavioral benefits to neutering (male pets) your animals. Most pet …show more content…
So if one male dog and one female dog mate and have their litter, the both parents and their offspring put together can produce 67,000 puppies in 7 years. The solution to the problem of pet overpopulation is for you to spay and neuter your dog. An unspayed female cat, her un-neutered mate and all of their offspring, producing 2 litters per year, with 2.8 surviving kittens per year can total 11,606,077 kittens in 9 years
Wouldn’t it be great to see all the animals happy and just a few being in a shelter? Help today by spaying and neutering your pets. Some people don’t want to because they want puppies around their house. By adopting a puppy from the shelter is even more help. So remember to spay and neuter your pets. It will also help the environment by reducing the environmental hazard of animal waste because it can harm anyone, also they won’t be out running around and spreading anything to other animals or even humans. Help conserve the environment and shelters by not allowing them to have
