1) How you plan to stay engaged and connected to others in the program?

I have been at Fielding Graduate University for a year now, and I realized that staying connected is imperative to my success. I plan on staying engaged and connected in the program by logging on daily, completing assignments on time, asking questions, ensuring that I mastered navigating in Moodle, myFielding and FELIX, reading all emails, and ensuring that I have a welcoming attitude. Logging on daily will decrease the chances of me missing any assignments or information posted. Completing assignments online is part of my duties as a student, incomplete assignments are detrimental to my success. I always ask questions if I am not sure about something. What I found out was that even if the questions sounds uneducated I should still ask. There

Ensuring that I master navigating in Moodle, my fielding and FELIX is a necessity. Mastering navigating in these websites will significantly increase my chances of success. On each syllabus often times the instructor's contact information is on there, so I will be sure to save their contact information in my phone. I know that I can reach any student in my class by accessing Moodle and finding their school email address. Having a welcoming attitude is vital to painting a healthy relationship with peers and staff. If I am corrected on something I will ensure that I don't have a negative attitude about it. I understand that I am going through a PhD process and to be successful at it I must be able to take criticism from peers and staff at Fielding Graduate University. If I can assist any of my fellow peers with anything I will do the best I can at assisting them. I expect the journey to be tough and five years long. However, at the end of those five years, I will have completed my goal and finally be able to start my career

Life at Latrobe in the late modernity has been easier in term of interaction between student/student and student/teacher because of the online environment that has been around for a while such as LMS, Facebook, Latrobe Library page online, and many others. All these sites mentioned above are used in a way to help all students to be part of the university social life. In addition, it is an easy way to connect with others (teacher or/and students) share experience, thoughts and ideas from Bundoora as well as other campuses. As I move forward in my career as an educational leader, my aspiration is to emulate the characteristics of a successful leader. Success in education can be measured every day in every school when the beliefs of the leader are reflected in the students and the staff. I aspire to be an innovative leader that motivates people to be courageous and open-minded to tackle the hard tasks. Furthermore, I hope to be a transformative leader that becomes a role-model to their peers by doing rather than saying. I will become this leader by being consistent with my communication skills, making responsible decisions that display my integrity and always keeping in mind that student achievement is my number one purpose.…

It is amazing how much effort actually goes into “paying attention”. Until reading this chapter and listening to the classroom lecture on attention controls, I never realized how daunting of a task focusing on the right thing at the right time could be. From getting ready for school in the morning to completing academic tasks throughout the day, there are so many opportunities for a child to become distracted or overloaded with information. Without having the proper attending skills to “conduct” our brains, children can miss out on valuable information they need to be successful in school. The student, Clarke that Dr. Levine described, reminds me a lot of a first grade student I used to work with in the classroom.…

Introduction Participating in university placement at Lizard Island was both a challenging and rewarding experience. I initially hoped to gain new skills and assist clients in clinical complex cases. But during the four-week placement program I gained an extraordinary amount of experience in understanding and participating in team work processes during an emotionally raw time. Throughout my university education reflective practice has been emphasised as a highly effective tool and an integral part of learning for health care professionals, integrating theory and practice. It wasn’t until my workplace placement that I understood it’s true value and importance.…

It seems like second semester went by faster than the first semester. The beginning of this semester went by smoothly, but as time passed and got closer to the end of the school year, I began to face a lot of challenges, therefore making it difficult for me to keep up my pace. Some challenges I faced throughout the entire semester are time management and public speaking. Even though I had obstacles, I also had successes such as passing test with an A and keeping up with my SRC points. Throughout the entire semester, not only did I grow as a student, but as well as a global citizen.…

Reflection on Book Title “The Leader, The Teacher & You” I share the same sentiment with the author that “Walk the ground!” is essential for a leader to earn respect from the ground. Walking the ground also requires social competency skills such as being able to “communicate to influence” and having “interpersonal effectiveness”. In future, I will apply this principle of “Walk the ground!” by constantly engaging my superiors, peers and subordinates for their guidance and opinions through cohesion and feedback sessions on how various tasks can be done more effectively and efficiently. Through these sessions, I will seek to understand their concerns and challenges in their area of work.…
