When I was five years old my parents got a divorce, being an only child I was upset and a little lonely. My mother decided that we need a dog; we went through several dogs before my best friend came in my life. I remember the day Lulu arrived. The years was 2001, I was seven years old and in the second grade. That day was a very exciting day for me because I played a very important baseball game and my team won. My mother told me for playing hard in the game she have an award for me at the house, I kind of figured it was a dog since I had to give away my last dog. I really wanted another dog. When I got home I rushed through the front door to see a little Pomeranian sitting on the couch. This was the first time I ever seen a dog so small before, she was so small she could fit in one hand. At first Lulu was shy and quite. She growled at us, and she even started to pee on the couch, but she eventually came around. I remember she was so small that she could not go up the stairs; I had to carry her up and down the stairs. Lulu slept in my room from day one and still does until she got sick and started living with my mother. When I leave for school she would blocked the door and barked at me, however when I came back home she would attack my shoes until I take them off. I call her, Sock Thief, because she would always take my socks and hide them from me. When I moved I got all my socks back because I finally found her hiding place. My mother told me when I was sick; Lulu would lay at the foot of my bed until I was feeling better. She did not let any come near me; she protected me by barking and growling at the person who tried to come near me. Although she was just five pounds in her mind she was bigger than a German Shepard. This class talked about communication, the concept of communication, the style of communication. Lulu, although a dog, and I had great communication. The class talked about the different relationships, Lulu and I had a great relationship. Even though my dog was a little nut and crazy, she was my best friend. She will be the longest dog I will ever have.
This event changed my life. The event showed me that all relationships are important; never take today for granted because tomorrow is not promise to you. Communication is a major key to a good relationship, even with a dog. What if I waited thinking I will see Lulu later in the week. She would have never known that I love you and she was my best friend. This event and the class helped me see
