Personal Narrative: Top Ten Survivors

Improved Essays
A couple days ago, some classmates and I came back from a scientific mission. When landing we had seen that earth was not earth anymore. It had been destroyed by a nuclear holocaust. Only ten survived and they are all in perfect health. Out of the ten survivors only five can live during the first six months, due to limited uncontaminated air. As a logical thinker I have to pick the best five to rebuild and re-populate for the next generation.

My first pick is thirty-year-old Tran. The reason why I chose Tran is, because he can fix or repair anything. If something broke or needs adjusting Tran is the guy. He is also a good father and provider. Having someone who is a good father is a must, because he knows what he is doing. The kids will like him and will

Sam is good pick, because he is a register nurse. Being in the medical industry is very helpful. If anyone got hurt or is giving birth Sam is there to help. He could also teach the next generation on how to do some basic safety tips. Sam is also witty, well liked, and has a good job performance. One of favorite reasons why I chose him is, because he is musically gifted. With music going around, it can be some type of entertainment and will lighten up the atmosphere. There are rumors of him being a homosexual, but of course they are just rumors.

My third pick is Karen, she is fifth teen. She is a cheerleader, average student, popular and loves talking on the phone. Her being a cheerleader is good. She can motivate people to do better or to feel better. She is flexible and is not dumb. Her talking on the phones means, she likes to communicate. Being able to communicate to other people is good, because it is good to be open especially, when it is just going to be five people. Karen can be a good influence to the next generation by teaching them to be communicative. She lost her virginity last month so she is ready to

The crazy old couple. I don’t mind it though, I usually get to tinker around with their gadgets they make me. I just wish Roy wouldn’t leave all the time, he’s the only family I have left. He doesn’t even seem like the Army type, he usually just gets wasted every night and leaves to the bar with a few of his buddies. I usually get left a bunch of money to order food and get random things throughout the week, so the pay isn’t that bad.…

Martinez is a motivational speaker, an actor, a wounded U.S. Army veteran, a best-selling author, and an advocate. His career pathway was and still is incredible.…

When I view the world around me, I see darkness. I see broken people with hurting hearts hurting others. What I also see are Christians. Christians everywhere who are doing nothing to love and help the pained individuals surrounding them, while doing everything to promote prosperity in their own lives. Of course, not every Christian is like that, as I am not one of those Christians.…

I wasn’t really sure either.…

The pain began slowly, pricking me with its sharp needles only while doing barre in ballet once a week. I ignored it, believing it to be normal, common discomfort that would soon go away, typical thoughts of a dancer whose entire sport is centered around “good pain”. Six months later, it had escalated to the degree that every step I took felt like an arrow to my knee. Dancing had become impossible, and it was determined that I should be taken to the orthopedist. The bland, brown and beige lobby became extraordinarily familiar as I waited two hours to be examined.…

Terry L. Chang was my top choice too. The best part about his resume, in my opinion, was his objective. His objective was relateable to the position that we are hiring prospective employees. For Olivia Brooks, Graham’s co-worker, I chose Indiana Evans. I chose her because Olivia is blonde, and I think that this actress kind of looks the part (a snobby star). Then there is Ellie’s best friend, Quinn. She has brown hair and is very short. I decided on Stefanie LaVie Owen.…

Feminist scholars disagree about survivor narratives and their ability to inform the issue of rape. The question is: what is real? Does a survivor narrative constitute the “real” experience or does the constructed narrative version itself become the “real” experience? How are these experiences dissociative for the performers (actual rape survivors who transmit their own experiences) and the audience? Framing trauma “realistically” creates an expectancy, an interchange between the audience and the rape narrative. Together, the framing trauma stories “anticipate a dialogue between what have historically been perceived as antagonistic categories and traditions, namely the materialist ‘real’ (historical reality) and the psychoanalytic ‘Real’ (that…

In life we face many obstacles such as failures, setbacks, and challenges. Some people let their setbacks defeat them, but for me I’m a survivor. I never let anything hold me back, I always get back up and start all over again and that’s what survivors do. There was a time when I was in the 3rd grade when I realized how much I loved music; I started off writing poetry then that led into me starting to write rap songs. I used to always tell my friends about my songs , but all they ever did was laugh , some friends I had right ? .…
