Do you know anyone in your life that you would consider to be a hero? The most astonishing altruistic lady name Joan is whom I have met. Who inspires me of this motto that we all should think about others and not just about ourselves as we are all in this together. To me she is my definition of a hero.
In fact, my definition of a hero is a person who has humility to admire their outstanding achievements and qualities. For instance, I perceive a hero being a leader and a role model to people. In addition, having characteristics of courage, selflessness, patience, and caring. More importantly, they put others before themselves.

Joan is a lady who attends church regularly and is actively involved. She attends church meetings and in this one meeting they discussed about a letter that was sent to the church. The letter was from a lady in Bismarck claiming that her son was in Fargo, ND in a jail and was asking if anyone would like to be a mentor to her son. Joan as a kind and caring lady decides she would give her phone number out and the lady’s son could call her. Countless weeks went by and Joan did not receive a phone call. Till one day she got a phone call and found out he was sentenced to leave to Bismarck to serve his time. After, he served his time he went to century ink a facility that takes people who were in jail and help them adjust back to being in a normal living society. When he calls Joan she is always there to help him whether it is a ride somewhere, help him pay for clothes, or rent. She has helped him by getting him through the rough patches so he does not fall back into his former ways. In this present day she is still in contact with
