Personal Narrative On Joining Pentathlon

It was a Wednesday morning at Peters Elementary, I was steadily copying down the week's homework waiting for the morning announcements. After I finished copying down the homework I turned around to talk to my friends Benjamin and Vincent about Minecraft, when the announcements abruptly came on asking us to stand and do the Pledge of Allegiance than saying, “Are you interested in joining Pentathlon?“ In my head I wondered, “Man, what is Pentathlon? It sounds like something a nerd would join.” Then the announcements continued saying, “Pentathlon is a competition between all schools in the Garden Grove district each year students study in all five subjects math, english, history, science, and the super quiz which this year’s subject is science. When the thought finally drifted into my mind,”What will my mom say?” My mom was always a strict parent and expected nothing but good grades and praise from teachers. What would she think if I got in trouble? I dreaded the bell but it was inevitable.When it rang I fearfully grabbed my backpack and dragged it through the doorway towards my mom’s gray Toyota van. I hopped in and tried to figure out a way to make my mom forget about my bad behavior, and that’s when my lightbulb lit up. My mom instantly asked, “How was your day? Did anything interesting happen?” Then I responded with, “The bad news is I got in trouble, but the good news is I’m joining Pentathlon.” Intrigued by my statement she than asked, “What did you get in trouble for? And what is Pentathlon?” “Pentathlon is a group where you study and then take test to see who is the best.” Just like magic my mom completely forgot about my bad behavior and started pestering me with questions about Pentathlon. That night I couldn’t sleep, and kept asking myself what did I get myself into?Luckily I had asked my friend Vincent to join with me so I wouldn’t be
