I find very hard to come on with ideas even if its about a simple subject. I have to rethink and even ask my friends or family members for some ideas. When i find myself stuck in a idea I have to stop writing and take a break. By taking a break I feel like I have an opportunity to have a fresh mind when I get back to the writing. I also think its hard the drafting section.…
With my process of writing I try to take a lot more time typing and figuring out what I’m going to write and do it so I don't have to revise as much. I really try to not make mistakes so I save time revising and can move on to whatever I need to do. For example this project I've thought about what I want to type to minimize my revision…
My own ideas have to room to grow and creatively wonder without being bogged down by the idea of a prompt. When my thoughts are free flowing I find I am thinking much more about what I am saying and what I want to say rather than what should be said. I find this to be an extremely positive influence in my writing- all due to the ideas that Graff lays out in this article “Clueless in Academe How Schooling Obscures the Mind”. In relationship to this I have found that the time in which it takes me to create these ideas and even the writing process in general has decreased. I find this to be a direct…
Project 1 - Personal Writing Process I like to think of myself as a creative writer. However, it is true that the majority of my writing time is dedicated to educational writing for school. So currently I am a creative writer in spirit and an educational writer out of necessity.…
Many writers struggle with this and is not a problem. If I encounter writer’s block I will go take a break and do something else for awhile. That way I can clear my head and get back to writing without any problems. I will go read a book for about an hour or work on another homework assignment. When I get done I’ll be ready to…
For example, research papers and anything informative is difficult for me to write. It is easier to write fiction because my mind can just make things up. Everything flows the way I want it to. The formatting is how I want it to be and I don’t have to follow a strict layout.…
When I was a child I always though about business. I wanted to know how things worked, how money worked. I started watching my grandfather write his invoices, deposit checks, talk to people as if he knew them but they had just met. I wondered how he did it, how he played his cards right and got people to hire him.…
My writing experience: I didn’t start to read until I was in first grade. Every week we would go to library to check-out two books and take a test on the books we read on a computer. Every day in English we read a short story to ourselves then we would play games dealing with the story to make it fun. To be honest I never really did a lot of writing in Elementary , Middle, or High school so I can’t pinpoint when I started writing. In essay writing I learned its always good to express yourself with your own opinion.…
For instance, just this week I had to leave the page in order to chase down two of our escaped goats. The week before that, my writing came to a standstill when a coyote visited our proprety. Today, the flow of my words was impeded by my mother, who was calling for dinner. In my cabin, such disturbances would be unheard of (except maybe the dinner interuption. I don't mind those much at all.)…
For most students, the moment the bell rings for summer, they never speak to their teachers again. Usually this applies to me as well, but last year, it didn't. Ms. Dirmeyer, my 7th grade Language Arts teacher, still keeps in touch with me, even though she’s not my teacher anymore. She takes interest in my writing, and has done several things to help me improve. Ms. Dirmeyer sends me emails with writing tips, along with worksheets directed towards improving my writing.…
My talent is creating, and my form of creating is writing. Writing is a thing I've been doing since I was in the seventh grade. I started writing then because of a troublesome past, both my mother and my father had left my two other siblings and I all alone, leaving us with our uncle. It was very hard for me to adjust, I was fatigued and emotionally hurt, I turned to writing. My love for writing grew into a bigger part of my life when I kept dream journals.…
My relationship with writing is a loved but hated association. What I mean is, I’m highly capable of and enjoy expressing my feelings and thoughts with the use of written language. However, when given the task of writing these same emotions and concepts, it becomes an extremely challenging and terrifying task for me. After starting a composition, my anxiety and self-doubt takes control, which causes difficulties with my focus.…
Over the first semester I feel I have been appropriately challenged in the area of writing we have done this year. I learned many new skills, but the most important one involves English and how to write properly. As for the first writing, I really did not understand what was right and what was wrong. Because I never paid close attention to specific rules in how to write. I truly believe it has been hard for me.…
Who doesn’t struggle with writing? I know I always have struggled with writing, for the longest time I didn’t even really understand the differences in sentences, and it is something that’s still confuses me a little bit. To be completely honest I sometimes procrastinate longer than I should when it comes to writing, so I don’t always review the finished product the way I should. Life gets in the way occasionally, and I attempt to convince myself that I have plenty of time to finish they assignment. This particularly gave me problems in high school.…
Writer's block is a thing. A lot of people with literary tendencies end up staring at a blank sheet of paper for hours on end every time they feel like giving this thing called writing a shot. With cases like this, it's a common belief that you're supposed to wait for your muse to inspire you and give your words some sort of cutting edge that will set the world ablaze. After all, you see it happening all the time in popular media. Real life, however, is quite a bit different than that.…
