Personal Narrative: My Personal Experiences Of American Veterans

I am an American. I say it with the utmost pride and respect. Some citizens don’t stand when they hear, “The National Anthem” play, they don’t remove their hats, and sometimes they even talk over our song. They don’t feel great pride when they see The United States of America’s flag waving high in the air. Some Americans tend to think of being free, having personal rights, being allowed to speak up and many other rights as normal, but in other countries living in America and having the opportunities we have everyday is only a dream to them. government). I personally know many people who have served for our country including my grandfather, my uncle, my father and many of his closest friends. Many of my father’s friends have gone over sea and come back different, they suffered from P.T.S.D., anxiety, and depression. Something simple that most people don’t think much of can trigger a memory so strong that they can focus in on what is reality and they get confused and think they are back in combat fighting for their lives and the lives of the soldiers standing next to themselves. If they hear something they heard while in war while at home their mind deceives them and lets them think it’s happening all over again they truly believe that they are back in combat and terrifying and traumatizing things happen in war yet even with all the stress they suffer from after the wars are over they would do it all again. An instant bond with anyone else wearing the uniform or that has previously worn it is created after being in combat saving each others lives numerous times they create an inseparable bond that they bring home with them, they look out for each other while abroad and home and this is how i know my dad’s best
