Personal Narrative: My Love For Pinterest

Decent Essays
My love for Pinterest began four years ago when I came across the interesting website. I truthfully do not remember how I found the website, but since the day I made my account I’ve been utterly obsessed. For me, Pinterest is a website that encompasses my whole personality.Starting with my food board, one can see all of the delicious meals I someday hope to create. I even made a board entitled “Vegan” of recipes for the one week of my life that I successfully tried this lifestyle. This board is then followed by a fitness board for all of the workouts I hope to do (and probably need to do after eating all of that food). On a more personal level, there is a quote board of motivational sayings that inspire me, and even a “reasons to smile” board

Try being still long enough to find the right image you want to capture through the lens of a camera. Finding the right shot takes time, which each shot you want it to be precise and just right. You always want as a photographer to make the first shot the best one mostly so you want have to take the time to find another shot. Imagine how frustrating it is thinking you’re first shot is the best until you look at the blurry and unfocused picture. The first time you look at that picture you think to yourself that you can just retake that same picture and will look different the next time.…

College is a life changing investment that prepares for life and career. The vast spectrum of knowledge, skills obtained, and experiences from a college degree more than compensates for the monetary cost of tuition. Creating art is my passion; I have always wanted to become a great artist ever since I was a child drawing on my walls and copying pictures from books. I have devoted my life to improving my talents by illustrating my own stories, practicing drawing daily, and challenging myself to earning my own money doing what I love by drawing commissions. Learning how to communicate through illustration is a valuable skill that will live with me for the rest of my life and progressing my artist career.…

My world is amazing, on occasion, that is. I have lived in a little town named Desert Hot Springs for all the seventeen years of my life, I have done everything there is to do, I have seen everything there is to see, is what I thought before. I have since then acquired a completely different view towards this little town. I have also since then found what I believe I am good at, Photography. Photography allows me to see something I like that…

Pinterest is another one of many social media’s that is at fault for creating their site in such a way. It coaxes their users into pinning about clothing or GIFs but never items of great substance. When users pin something on Pinterest it will automatically within that moment change what posts are being fed to this user. Facebook and Pinterest, along with many other social medias, are falling short of their responsibility to coax their users into discussing the uncomfortable issues and learning about others…

“Deeper Into my Life” Individuals are unique in their own ways and one of mine happens to be my name, Darrnyejah Bolds. Everywhere I go people have a hard time pronouncing it. Many people have given up and just refer to me as “Ms. Bolds,” but also I have two nicknames “Nye”, and “Nyejah,” which is mostly used by family and friends. Over the years, I have adjusted to my nicknames and became very comfortable with them. I entered this world on February 27, 1997 with the zodiac sign of Pisces.…

I was back at my parents in Houston the summer after my ill fated stint trying to make it as a sales person at a hip gallery in SoHo ended up as a complete and expensive failure; apparently it is not a good idea to talk a potential buyer out of a painting, even if the painting is pure shit, and has no sense of composition or color, especially when the gallery manager is standing a few feet away when said conversation takes place, and a girlfriend of mine from highschool, who had taken a completely different route; living the collegiate life at University of Texas, on the cheerleading squad and pledging Kappa Kappa Gamma was also home for the summer planning her wedding to the dreamy Austin native, Kip Anderson, and she desperately needed a…

As I brainstormed about things that I carry, nothing stood out. Not a single prized-possession, no metaphoric symbols, no family heirlooms, not even an everyday object that I could somehow pull a deeper meaning out of came to mind. I had no words to describe what I carry, nothing at all. And I then realized that I couldn’t have described it any better. I carry nothing.…

My whole life I’ve been a little different. From the clothes I wear and the way I present myself, to the way I look at the world, I’ve always been somewhat peculiar. Not peculiar in a bad way, but in an interesting, provocative kind of way. I am the weird greenish-yellow crayon in the box that no one ever uses. I was born in Anchorage, Alaska.…

Every morning when I wake up, the first thing I do is, I look at my cellphone to turn off the sirens going off on my alarm. I spend about 10 minutes on my phone viewing any notifications, messages, and timelines on my social media. Once I notice the time on my phone I quickly start to get ready for the day. While getting ready I listen to music on my phone and keep an eye on the time to make sure that I am not running late. Throughout the day I consistently check my email, both personal and school, to keep up to date with my everyday life.…

Significance. This research study focuses primarily on the seemingly allusive concept of creativity. Creativity is often defined in terms of products. An idea can not be considered creative unless it shows an observable outcome, in other words, a practical creation (Plucker & Lim, 2001). These outcomes must be easily measured and consistently serve the same practical purpose (Plucker & Lim, 2001).…
