Improved Essays
I choose to interview Susan Chenoweth because she made a positive impact on my life. She is one of many reasons I decided to return to school. I contacted Susan about the interview and ask if she would be willing to take part. With both of us having a busy schedule I wrote out a list of questions and emailed them to her. She answered the questions and emailed them back to me later on that day. During the interview, I found out Susan, a mother, worked two jobs while she was attending the University of Texas at Tyler as a full-time student.
I began the interview by asking what was college like for you, and Susan’s response was it was difficult because she was balancing school, work, while also being a single mother of her son. She then

For the interview process, the two people that I interviewed were Martha Millison and Cecilia Rivas. Martha Millison is a school counselor at Green-Wood Charter School in Philadelphia and Cecilia Rivas is a CUA chief management supervisor. When both Martha and Cecilia came and spoke to our class, I was so intrigued by what they said that I wanted to know more about their work field. I especially found Martha job interesting because she works in a school setting and that’s where I want to work. I really enjoyed interviewing these two women because when I finish college I want to work with children and both Martha and Cecilia work with children in different ways.…

I really appreciate Cathy Small’s appreciation and respect for the Tongan people and culture. Our family like so many immigrants have a great story and journey to America. My relationship with Cathy I would say is professional in nature. As an Anthropologist she tries to remain objective. Her approach to her study takes Humanistic approach to anthropology, as Ivan Brady suggests, “must be creative, eager to search everywhere and to account for the greatest array of happenings, and willing to reach out to alternate narrative forms.…

Sally Burt is the kindest woman you could ever meet. Many take her kindness for weakness, because she tends to be very passive, but don’t let her fool you, because she does have a feisty side. She is fifty-six years of age, but has the vitality of a twenty-six year old. She has dark brown eyes that sparkle every time she speaks; her light brown skin glows ever so radiantly as the sun hits her; she has thick, brown, short hair that caresses her shoulders. During the eighteen years I have lived my experiences have been fairly sheltered. I have never traveled out of the country, eaten exotic foods, or gone skydiving; consequently, I haven’t met many people of special interest. Not to say the people I have met are not interesting, on the contrary, most of the people I have come to know all have their own unique stories and experiences; however, I never did meet anyone quite like Miss May. To this day I can’t pinpoint what exactly it was about her that intrigued me so much, maybe it was her rich brown hair and almond-shaped eyes, or how she pronounced candy more like “kehn-dee”, or it definitely could have been the way her eyes lit up when she smiled—still she will always remain a mystery to me.…

For the peer reflection project, I interviewed Alexis Dowdell about the time her family adopted her cousin, Rochell. I thought this process was very interesting. I felt the right approach to interview Alexis was to be myself.…

Intergenerational Interview Paper Introduction The person that I interviewed was my mother, Catherine Scurlark. I thought I knew everything there was to know about her, but after this interview I feel like I have a much better perception about who she actually is and how the impact of events has shaped her into the woman that she is today. My mom is 50 years of age – according to Erikson’s Stages of Psychosocial Development, that puts her in the middle adulthood (generativity vs. stagnation) category.…

The sun’s burning rays beat down on us as we dug through the layers of Egyptian sand and rock. We had only begun the excavation the previous day and had already uncovered one-fifth of the ancient pyramid. I, as well as a team of high-ranking archaeologists, had accompanied Sarah Parcak in an expedition to unearth a lost Egyptian pyramid. “How’s your section of the chamber coming along, Erica? We’ve just uncovered a new sarcophagus,” remarked Sarah as she passed by, carrying a large coffin.…
