I wasted most of my first year skipping classes, hanging out with friends and partying my weekends away instead of doing school work. In addition to this negligent lifestyle, my knee

Being the first in the family to take interest in college is already enough for everyone to push me in the direction to achieving it. I do not want to disappoint them or myself, I want to be on the graduation stage with my hand grasping that master degree. About me, others describe me as opinioned, stubborn and independent. Although I do not want to admit it, these traits all apply to me. Opinioned doesn’t sound as an appealing word to me I should say I like for people to understand my views completely also I don’t mind if someone does not agree with me, it just adds more depth to the discussion.…

Life holds a series of setbacks; every day we deal with problems that affect us on a personal level. In my four years of college, I have definitely had my fair share of setbacks through athletics and my living arrangements at Saint Peter’s University. My freshman year, I came from a slow, quiet suburban childhood into the fast and nonstop environment of Jersey City. The following year, I tried to take on more responsibility by renting a house near campus with my teammates, but I ended up stuck in a house with people who persistently disregarded the rules and my well-being. They turned my simple apartment into a party house for the entire school to destroy against my will.…

I am particularly interested in the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire due to all of the impressive things i've heard from my older brother who attended for 3 years before transferring due to major switches. All of the amazing opportunities Eau Claire gave him to succeed as well as determine what he wanted to pursue really have drawn me to attending this school. Furthermore, I hope to acquire the same great college experience he had while attending this school. Being that the city of Eau Claire is so similar to the town I grew up in and have come to love makes going to UW- Eau Claire that much more important to me. Coming from Neenah/Appleton area, which is roughly close in size to Eau Claire would make my transition into the school and area much easier which is an important aspect of Eau Claire that I admire.…

In my junior year, I had the opportunity to visit Syracuse University for an information session and campus tour. Even though it was extremely cold that day, I immediately sensed the effervescent college community when I stepped onto the campus. Heading to Crouse-Hinds Hall, the venue of the information session, I admired the architecture of the Hall of Languages and noticed people from different cultures entering and exiting the building enjoying their day, heading towards Varsity Pizza, the Syracuse Bookstore, or class. It made me think about how great of a learning experience it will be hearing all of their ideas and perspectives coming from all over the world.…

“So what is your story?”. It is such a trivial question, yet so commonly thought over. The truth is, there is not a single defining moment in my life that has led me to where I am today or finalized my decision in attending Miami University. Who I am, how I came to be, and what influences my choices in life is a mixture of moments, experiences, and relationships that has molded me into this person standing in front of you today. Though I am still adjusting to the nature of my new environment, I know once I fully adapt, I will be fine. As I get used to the academic environment of FAMU, I am still trying to adjust to the physical environment as well.…
