Additionally, this year was made special since I finally choose to stay after school and join a program that has changed my life forever and given me various opportunities. Indeed, I decided to join the chess club, also known as the only club that was big in that school year. Anyhow, to begin to understand just how enormous the change the chess club provided it is important to understand that prior to the club Esperanza Middle School had earned no trophies. Even more, the chess club was the first club that participated in tournaments that were run by the city, not to mention the fact that I was the first one to earn a trophy in one of those tournaments. Even though the chess team provided a space for me and my friends to engage it was also

I arrived at Rancho Buena Vista High School at 12:00 pm. I waited in a line for about 20 minutes until I reached to the security section. Before we could enter Rancho Buena Vista’s Stadium, we had to be checked for weapons or anything dangerous. I took everything from my pockets and placed them on the table where the securities took a look. Then I was patted down and walked through a metal detector.…

The first time I met all of the girls in my grade was at the 6th grade orientation. I was still going to school in Truckee when I went to the orientation my school was having their 6th grade orientation as the Incline Middle School was having theirs. The beginning of Junior year, my second year after I was accepted to the Teaching Academy. We walked to Rio Vista Elementary school to become reading buddies. Preschool caught my eye because I’ve been told they were difficult because of their age and how small their attention span was. The first day we didn’t choose our buddies they decided who they wanted. I was chosen by this girl named Jasymine, she was shy and didn’t talk as much as her classmate did.…

In the seventh grade, I faced a large transition in life. The previous year I had experienced middle school for the first time, but I would make that entrance again. I moved from Texas to North Dakota, where seventh grade was the first year of middle school. I took on those same fears and hopes that I had faced before, but in an unfamiliar place where I had no one except for family to give me support. I tried a lot of new things that year, mainly wrestling.…

The first thing I noticed when I walked into Jasmine Middle School was how big the eighth graders were. I knew that in middle school the sixth graders would be the babies, but it was still kind of a shock at how big eighth graders really were; well, at least I hoped the kids I was looking at were eighth graders. If the group of kids hanging out by the lockers were seventh graders, then eighth graders must be huge. Luckily, after looking around for a few seconds, I spotted my best friend, Georgina Larson by the water fountain. She’s never hard to find, because her hair is light blonde, and she’s always wearing really flashy outfits.…

Many years ago, when I was in 6th grade in Westridge Middle School. I was at an all girls school and our teacher made all the girls in the class sit next to one of our dear friends, but it was very uninteresting when you had to sit next to someone you don’t like. I disliked sitting next to Samantha. I don’t like her, she would always argue with me.…

When we pulled into the parking lot of Santa Maria High School I realized it is not likely that Roberto will get away. The immigration officer told me to stay in the car and wait for him to return, and even if I wanted to I could not have gotten out since the officer locked the car and there was another in the back, who was keeping his eye on me. About half an hour later the immigration officer came back without Roberto and I heard him say "The kid went home for the day" to the officer, which gave me some hope that he would not get caught. Just as I began to think this, the car pulled out and started driving over to the barrack on the ranch that my family lived.…

From my personal experience, when I was in elementary school I remember my teacher would let us sit on yoga ball it always helped me concentrate and it helped me when I was really active because I could not move around, it will make me fall if I move around. I like the idea of standing desks because I prefer standing a lot but when I need to I could sit down on the tool, but I could still move my legs around and be somewhat active. So if one day you're feeling antsy you can just stand. Also I think if your tired it could help you stay awake. Mark Benden also states that sitting desk can cause kids to be obese, he also says that too much sitting is bad for your health.…

Throughout one’s life they are often faced with challenges when they need to find a way around the problem to the solution. I am certainly not unfamiliar with this feeling. My first time at Trinity Preparatory School came with both a great amount of academic and personal bumps because I went in with unrealistic expectations about what would take place. It was my sophomore year in high school, I was coming from a sports powerhouse, Winter Park High School, and had more confidence than your average fifteen year old, despite being told earlier that summer that transferring from a public school to a private school would be difficult.…

When I first became aware of my ethical foundation was when I was only 3 years of age. I knew that there was a set of rules and if those rules were not followed around the house there would be consequences. My mother was always the one who set the rules and she made sure that my brother and I had an idea of how to act and behave. For example, have you ever gone to the grocery store and you see a kid crying and throwing a tantrum because they are not getting that new toy or that candy they wanted? Well, I was never one of those kids my mother thought us that if she said no because that was no money or for whatever reason being then that was the end of discussion.…
