Personal Narrative: Jill As A Role Model

Improved Essays
Every girl growing up has someone she loves at first sight; someone that instantly becomes a huge part of her life. When I say love at first sight, it’s not always about a lover. It can be someone you are just absolutely infatuated with, or a role model. I was fortunate enough to find a role model who truly makes me feel like an important piece to the puzzle of life. That role model is Jill Cochran, PhD, APRN-FNP. I couldn’t tell you the first time I met Jill. She has truly just become a part of my life. Jill is like a mother figure to me. She is everything you could possibly ask for. She is very intelligent, so smart she could write a medical textbook. She is beautiful, and has every feature I can only dream of: blue eyes, high cheekbones, and “that smile”. That smile she has could light up a room, and it always makes me feel better. Her voice is sweet, but loud. It flows through the air like the wind through the trees. Last year when I was diagnosed with Stevens-Johnson Syndrome, I was miserable. I not only felt awful, but looked awful which plummeted my self-esteem. No matter what, she was always there when I need her. When I was at my lowest, I knew she was always a text or a call away. She would always say “You get prettier every time I see you.” …show more content…
I’ve thought very hard about what I want to do and what I would enjoy. I want to change lives and make a difference in the world. What could I possibly do to be half the woman Jill is? Without a doubt in my mind, I know I want to be just like mama Jill. I want to follow in her footsteps and make her proud. She has created a strive in me like a fire. What else could I do that would make me happier than becoming a nurse practitioner? Jill has changed the lives of many through her work, and she has saved me. If I can be half of the person Jill is, I would be the happiest woman
