Personal Narrative: If I Had To Visit Miami

Improved Essays
If I could visit anywhere in the world, I would visit Miami, Florida. I want to visit Miami so that I can enjoy the beach front condos on the water. I really love being able to step out on my porch and enjoy the scenery of the beach. The beaches in Florida are very nice and have very clear water. The beaches in Florida also do not have a lot of litter which allows people to enjoy it more. I really enjoy the the waves and water on the beach. I like to be able to slowly walk the shoreline and hear the waves softly crashing against the sand. The beaches in Miami have extremely white sand which means that the sand is clean and people are taking care of the beach. I also really enjoy walking and collecting all of the unique shells that the waves have washed up onto the shore. If you take the time to really search you will be able to find some amazingly unique shells.

I think that we all get so consumed sometimes in what we are doing in our daily lives that we do not take any time to relax and escape from reality. I know that personally my day to day living can be mildly stressful. Visiting a place like Miami makes it very easy to leave all of that behind and take a moment to gather all of your thoughts and feelings and recuperate. I think that everyone needs some sort of break every once in a while to stay mentally healthy. If anyone is feeling overwhelmed or just feels that they have a lot going on and they came to me for support, I would tell them that I think they should take a vacation to a beach. I think that the beach is very therapeutic and allows people to figure out themselves and anything that they have going on with them. I know that personally whenever I go to the beach sometimes I just want to cry because I feel all of my emotions being released! Usually after I spend some time doing these thing some that I enjoy I feel sort of refreshed in a

Our ancestors, who lived near the coast, appreciated the beach for providing a healthy and enjoyable lifestyle. They consumed fresh seafood and fruits that supported their active lifestyle. They relaxed in the sun, and bathed in the ocean which made their skin radiate of sex appeal. Today, people visit the beach for the same reasons: to relax and to enjoy delicious food. In Roxane Gay’s article “Why the Beach Is a Bummer” she explains her outlook on the beach and why it’s a place of discomfort rather than fun. “This is an ideal beach of hot sun, warm sand, crystal-clear water that leaves your skin salted. But it is all too often a mirage”(Gay) the beach isn’t always a place for everyone, and the expectations of the beach often leave people let down or disappointed. As much as I do love the beach and enjoy laying in the sun I agree with Gay’s perspective of the beach to an extent.…

I have three options to choose from, which are an orthodontist, a criminal justice, or an interior designer. I’m still having a difficult time trying to choose what I want to be. Often times we talk to individuals about their favorite vacation spot or where the place they feel the most at rest is; the response we get most often is the ocean. This is because the ocean is restorative. The quiet roar of the waves, the sound of seagulls chirping, the salty breeze, the ocean is a place of peace. For many the sea is not just a vacation destination, but the sea is a friend. Something that is consistent, and always listening.…

From smelling the salty waters by the Florida Keys, seeing all of the green from the stems of green beans growing, the flavor of the freshest eggs you could get from the coop in the backyard, to the avocado tree growing in the backyard, my trip to Florida had become one of the greatest life experiences I’ve had yet. Visiting Florida taught me many skills on being independent, mentally, and how easy and fun it is just to be to yourself sometimes. It all started Christmas eve when I got home to find my presents from “Santa” there before we even went to bed. My parents had planned on taking a vacation to Florida for Christmas break to see my grandparents, but we were unable to also get my parents there.…

Many things can represent the city of Miami to people. To me however, from daytime to nighttime, South Beach best illustrates what makes Miami different from almost every other city: diversity. Everything, from the sounds, feelings and tastes, to the smells and sights, makes one feel as though you are standing at the crossroads to the rest of the world. As you approach South Beach, crossing over the ocean on I-395, you can already hear multiple styles of music playing in the distance.…
