Personal Narrative: I Liked The Class Version

Improved Essays
I liked Stuart’s spoken version more than I liked the class version for many reasons. One of the main reasons is that Stuart knows his story more than anyone so he’s gonna present it the best. He knows when irony is coming up so he makes a pause. For example, in this story there is a lot of irony and I didn’t have a hard time finding them because the way he presents it. Like when morely said ‘ the kids seem to be having a great time’ the audience knew that the kids were probably drinking alcohol because the way he approached the sentence. It was nice to be able to figure out the irony that simple and it made it more comical. If I heard the class version before any other version I would have never saw the irony when Dave said he didn’t understand why the breathalizer said …show more content…
Also, Stuart knows how to pronounce all the difficult words. For example, some people in the class couldn't pronounce Schellenberger but some people could and it made it sound strange. It ruins the effect if something isn't pronounced right. If you know how something is pronouced and its defintion you can make changes so it’s more relatable for our generation. Stuart is more consistent with the changes, if he changes something on one page it will be changed on the others. With the class some students make relatable changes and some people dont pay attention so they leave it at the original state. I also like the flow that Stuart gives the story. If I listen to the audio for ‘Polly Anderson’s Christmas party’ I can't tell when he starts a new page but when the class reads I can tell because the voices change and cuts off a bit. Overall, I just like the way Stuarts voice goes with the story. I can just picture Dave’s voice sounding like Stuart’s voice and Dave talks a decent amount in this story. All the voice changes makes it sound less proffesional compared to Stuart’s version. To sum up, I like Stuart’s storytelling skills better than the

I really enjoyed watching the video. The purpose of John Sinnett 's was that he wanted his students to see that he was engaged just as the students were. From the video, we can see that John is very passionate about his kindergarten students. During his lesson, he gets down on the carpet on the same level as his student to make them feel engaged. This is something that is very important because students are so to teachers telling what to do.…

My classroom procedures are very clear, which the class has become familiar with over the semester. Students are to come in from their special class and grab their materials and go sit on the carpet and get ready for math to begin. These are expectations that should be memorized by now. Many of them do this and it contributes to the flow of the classroom and the engagement level of the entire groups. Students are expected to pay attention to the speaker during the mini-lesson by facing their way and not playing with any other items.…

I remember when I was 5, the first time I went to a building daily for 8 hours. I sat down on the cold blue chair. In front of me was a bin of crayons, all the colors of the rainbow: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and purple. I remember sitting in the cold room and having the freedom to draw marks on my blank sheet of paper. The dye scratching against the table, colors spreading across the canvas like the sun, rising in the early morning.…

Since starting high school, my interest in classroom learning had dropped quite significantly. I felt like grades were just a game, and that I should be out in the world learning things I deemed "practical life skills." My senior year I was able to mentor in a classroom of fourth graders for one period, ever other day. I took the class thinking it would be an easy and fun way to spend an hour an a half.…

During my first years as a high school student, I usually procrastinate on my assignments because I couldn’t balance the workload between my most challenging classes, which was my Honors English class and my AP European class. As a result, I end up having to choose between them as to what assignment I have enough time to do. That school year was one of the hardest for me. I was able to stay on track and handle my workload by writing down everything I had to do. To-do lists were very helpful for me…

Semester of Learning Experiences People most always say, “ Learn from you mistakes and achievements.” I would definitely conclude that is exactly what I’ve done this first semester of college. There are many times that I wanted to simply curl into a ball because of all the newness and unfamiliarity. At times I found myself doing just that, but realizing that I needed to toughen up burst from my comfort zone. I can say sleeping through your classes never the best choice, not going just because you find it too easy, missing a class just to write a paper for another class, and differentiating between minimal and highly important status of choices.…

The hardest thing I’ve ever went through? Let me take you back to almost three years ago to a very cold Thursday morning in January. I was sitting in history class when suddenly something very strange happened; the announcement speakers came on. To most people it would seem like it was a very typical day to day event to listen to announcements; but at my school announcements were rarely ever said. My classroom got completely silent; to the point where you could have heard a pin drop.…

I completed my ten-hour class observation at the private school Georgia Military Prep. The Georgia Military Prep School is located on Georgia Military College’s main campus in Milledgeville. At GMC prep I observed Ms. Jennifer Spencer's advanced eighth grade math class. Ms. Spencer has a decidedly pleasant air about her, a quick smile, and a brisk step that belies her ‘let us get the job done’ type attitude. On my first day observing her class, I soon gathered that Ms. Spencer always has a goal in mind when she sets foot in the classroom.…
