Personal Narrative: How Vacation Will Change My Life

Improved Essays
I never knew going on vacation would change my life forever. We where shopping and i was planning on buying a souvenir. A homeless man was leaning against one of the shops. I asked my mom for ten dollars from her purse. She gave me the money and I ran as fast as I could to the homeless man. He didn't look so good and I thought the ten dollars would help him a lot. The ten dollars in his hand looked like a perfect and charity fit, the look of surprise on his face made me ask myself “has no one treated him well, and i already knew the answer to that. I felt good as a walked away even though i couldn't get the item i wanted, but ten dollars going to myself for something stupid wasn't better than someone who needed it who probably had nothing. Unless sinners have experienced an awakening, they are in the devil's possession. Sinners are portrayed as corrupt, conceited and helpless because they reject God. Jonathan Edwards says, "the God that holds you over the pit of hell, much as one holds a spider, or some loathsome insect over the fire, abhors you, and is dreadfully provoked"(Edwards 285). There is no security that will save sinners. Good actions is not enough because they are useless.…

I was smiling the whole time as the skin around my neck was being ripped off. Well I wasn’t actually smiling and as brutal as I made it sound, it wasn’t as horrific an event now that I look back on it. The incident occurred while I was on Spring Break during my freshman year in high school. My family and I were vacationing in Gatlinburg, Tennessee;which if I might add we’ve been there about eight times since I was seven years old. I remember clearly that day down to the exact temperature.…

It had always been a dream of my family’s to someday go to Hawaii and it had finally happened. We had been planning the trip for over a year and before I knew it, I was already there on the gorgeous island of Maui. The first morning we were there we decided to go up to the summit of Haleakala to watch the sunrise. Haleakala is a volcano that has been dormant since 1790. The summit of Haleakala is so serene and definitely one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited.…

Earlier this month, I was searching the web for a science camp/program for this summer. After turning over what seemed like every stone, I could not find a program that was both hands-on and a reasonable price. However, a few Google searches later, and I came across this great program offered by Jefferson. When I read the program description to my parents; they were in shock at what I could potentially be doing this summer. But how did I get interested in this program in the first place?…

The best thing I did this Summer was going to Hawaii with my family. We were gone for two weeks and went to two different islands. Maui was our first stop and on our second day, we went scuba diving which was my favorite part of the trip. We saw many different species of fish and saw a shark. Our instructor went right up to the shark to bring it out of its cave and it swam right by us.…
