Montag is being attacked by Beatty, but gets out of his grasp and burns him to smithers. He is escaping on foot from everyone in the city, trying to not look suspicious. Montag is being hunted by the hounds, and unfortunately gets his leg numbed by one before he destroys it. He hides the books in a coworkers house and goes to Faber’s home. Faber tells him to go and follow the old railroad tracks to some people out in the forest.…
About two or three years ago, we got a dog. This wasn't a normal dog, he was a rescue dog that we got from the shelter at Klemme. When I first saw him I was super excited because we haven't had a dog like him before. His name is Spots and he is a Cocker Spaniel. As soon as we got him home he was super friendly and really loving but, he needed a bath.…
Walking on to the Lucas Oil turf as a Carmel Marching Greyhound for awards at Grand National finals after an exhilarating performance of “What a Tangled Web We Weave” was a feeling of pure accomplishment. As a sophomore, I had done this once before, but this time was different. The whole band knew we were in the running for the national title. Avon and Broken Arrow were our biggest competitors. Earlier in the season we won ISSMA state, so coming into nationals we knew we had a pretty good chance of being exceptionally good.…
As I look up at the sky, which is blood red like the sun stabbed it so it could get away from its eternal partner,I begin to hear the horrible noises of these sky creatures. Their horrible squealing draws everything's attention because it sounds the an incantation to summon the devil from the pits of the underworld. The howling wind joins in trying to make the summoning happening quicker but instead it makes me feel like my ears are going to bleed and starts to cast a sleeping spell on anyone caught in this siren song. The trees become alive to this bewitching tunes as their rodent inhabitants begin to run around trying to attack one another like wolves attacking a deer. Next door the neighbor’s rowdy brats come outside, probably because this is their favorite tune, with their wild and atrocious dog to play game of run around and destroy the yard or as most call it fetch.…
“If you love something, let it go. If it comes back it’s yours. If not it never was.” That’s what one of my friends said to me. I was sitting on the hardwood floor in the living room with my guinea pigs when she said that.…
After a three-hour bus ride, surrounded by strangers, I arrived at Camp Pendleton. With no expectations, I assumed Devil Pups would be just another leadership camp. As I stepped off the bus immediately trapped by three drill instructors screaming in my face, I knew I had made a grave mistake. From the moment I stepped foot on Camp Pendleton, I knew my life would never be the same. Devil Pups was initiated due to a group of teenagers who in the 1950's burned down the American flag.…
When I was 9 and I got home from school I went walking up to my house and open the door and I saw this black with white dog I just ran and then he was trying to catch me and I ran till I got tired and then stopped. Then my brother tells me to stop running and starts saying that he was our new dog.…
Rough Draft We walked down the aisle passing by cage after cage, listening to the deafening sound of hundreds of dogs barking. Cheryl, the vintner coordinator, tried to tell us about some of the dogs, but with the amount of noise all we could do was nod and pretend like we understood. I kept my eyes open for dogs that would be fun to walk after our orientation. And out of the corner of my eye I saw a ghost of a dog.…
I have always had pets, from small hamsters to dogs. Back home (Brazil), I have two Golden Retrievers (Lucky & Vicy), one turtle (Joãozinho) and two birds (Flor & Martin) and love them all. Here in San Francisco, I live in a small apartment and have roommates so unfortunately I can't have big pets, therefore I have one small hamster (Aika) and a fish (Bluey). I am really patient and honest, and I love to take dogs for walks. I have previous experience on looking after dogs and I would love to look after yours.…
Just checking in to see how your dog duties are coming along. I hope Emma is healing and that Diesel hasn’t eaten anyone yet. Our Foster dog almost died, was diagnosed with either/both leukemia and a stomach blockage of some sort, and then made a full recovery. We had a chance to have him put down, but I decided to give him more time and brought him home from the hospital with a prescription for Prednisone, which was expected to extend his life by maybe another 6 weeks. He’s in his third week now and, other than the shaved legs and belly, seems perfectly normal.…

Lessons From a Cat Cats have a tendency to randomly show up around people’s houses. They will march on your deck, tear up your screens and sneak into your garage. Sound familiar?…
One time when I was really little (like 4 years old) my best friend Raegan and I were playing on her playing with ant’s ( the bug) and sugar sticks , when her mom walked around the corner with a little box. Reagan's birthday was on the same day as mine (April 30th) and I assumed that the pesen was for Reagan and I was not expecting what was actually in that box. some time later…. a couple days later I want back over to her house ( we would alternate whose house we would play at) and I walked in and all of the sudden I heard a little yapping that sounded like a little dog, I was so confused Reagan did not have a little dog, all she had was a bernese mountain dog, named buddy.…
I always knew that my dog was different. As Daisy, my golden retriever looks into my eyes pleadingly, I realise that she suffers so much. She has become so inactive and fragile. There is nothing that can be done in order to help her. My weary heart is shattered.…
Let me introduce myself, I am George the Basset Hound and I am 44 years old (dog years that is). Today my mom Betty, and my dad Bob, are taking me on a walk to the park down the road. I heard them talking about it from across my house, but it was a little muffled due to my luxurious ears. I hear them walking down the hallway now, and I hear the sound of my leash jingling in my mom’s hand.…
