Personal Narrative Essay: The First Vietnam War

Yet again we were wrong as we were mercilessly bashed with wave upon wave of enemy fire. Soon our ammo ran dry and we waited behind a concrete wall and hoped for the planes to come. The enemy soon felt brave enough to charge at us with batons and swords but this was their fatal mistake and we fought back hard. Our strength was godly compared to theirs and we only had to use a single punch to kill a single man. After only a few short minutes a pile of bodies has formed around our concrete wall, the enemy knew that this was a mistake which they shall regret and whoever could flee fled as far as possible away from us. We scavenged the ground in hopes to find weapons and saw multiple pistols and assault rifles strewed on the ground with some munitions …show more content…
The soldiers reacted quickly and fended off the settlement with ease so we did not get up because we wanted to conserve ammo for what was to come. Finally, the orders came and we boarded the plane so we could get closer to the capital. The plane lifted from the ground and quickly carried us to a small farm field shadowed by the abandoned skyscrapers and crumbled houses. We quickly jumped from the planes to make sure we do not disturb the surrounding area and ran into the woods to start our approach to the capital so we could capture information and pictures of what is happening in the capital. We quickly moved through the woods and into the outskirts of the capital where we saw soldiers bustling carrying supplies or fixing broken things that were laid out under a large tent. We started to film the base and once we got enough pictures we moved into the capital itself with great caution so we could avoid as many soldiers as possible and kill only a few of whom would get in our way. Once we got to one of the many crumbling skyscrapers we ducked into it and hid in the shadows so we could learn more of what is happening. After days of avoiding detection and spying, we finally got information on a missile silo which still contained many nukes. We hoped that the coordinates would be revealed alongside what was already revealed but sadly the location remained hidden somewhere in United Asia. We, of course, reacted quickly and started to think of a plan to find and destroy these

I was shocked by the incredible amount of casualties during this 3-day battle, and I was appalled at how humanity could be so violent. While on the guided tour, I was devastated by how many young men were killed in such a short period. Just in the first day of fighting, thousands were killed, but in the second day, the numbers were incomprehensible. Nearly 22,000 people had died in just 4 hours of fighting on the second day of the battle, amounting to 51,000 soldiers put out of action after the three days of fierce conflict. Additionally, there were many places that we visited where I was horrified by the brutality of the battle.…

This included the rogues, the beast men, the automated gun turrets, and the security systems. Once the four floors of Base 113 were secured, the Adelburgers then began their cleanup. Anything that happened to be a technology developed by either the Brotzmanstab or else TDO-VII was to be boxed up inside wooden crates and then taken back to the surface, where they were to be taken with the attacking force. Personnel files of deceased TDO-VII members, blueprints, documents and valuables were also taken as…

She was one of the girliest girls I knew since grade school, with her stylish culottes and pink garments of all different shades for all different occasions. She was the epitome of a mixture between pure innocence and quirk that boldly took her rightful place in the middle of my heart. Mary Anne wasn’t just all of that; she was also my affectionate girlfriend, my warm-hearted best friend who I could talk about anything with, from the most trivial things to the very meaning of our whole existence. At the time, all I could feel was the absolute joy that I got from spending my time with her. We had our entire happiness in the future planned out, a dream wedding and all, but maybe that was the reason why I wouldn’t have ever imagined that I would be feeling so lost and empty just a few years later, alone and missing a part of myself.…

It was a rainy morning in Seattle, and I wore my Army dress uniform. Stepping off the bus, I ran 100 yards to the entrance of the Airport. After I purchased my ticket and checked my bags, I headed to the bar. It was the time of the winter equinox, and I was headed home with my discharge in my duffle bag. I suppose I should have worn my civilian clothes, but I had been stateside six months, and the comradeship I experienced in Vietnam had yet to loosen its grip on me.…

While I was thinking about my problem, Cush came by and told me it was time to get my mules ready, so we could deliver supplies to the Yankees. Later on, we got ordered to form into a wagon train and we soon started our journey. After traveling for some time, we arrived at a warehouse, where we had to pick up our supplies.…

It was May 22, 1864. I crouched behind the large tree that overlooked the battlefield down the hill, and my mind raced in disbelief. Cool and soft breezes brushed over me. The flight to Panama was long and bumping as I flew aboard a C-141, this aircraft is no longer in service. As I departed the aircraft, I was met by oppressive heat and humidity. As I looked around my new surroundings, I could not help but think that it looked as if someone had laid a giant green carpet over the landscape. It was definitely the most beautiful country that I had seen and, in my opinion it still is. The tarmac was busy with all kinds of activity going on.…

The United States Army Air Defense Artillery had small but important roles in the Korean War. Although most the units were filling non-Air Defense roles, there are a few that set themselves above and beyond their sister units due to their actions. These units fulfilling roles other than air defense were using the M19 Multiple Gun Motor Carriage, which was a self-propelled anti-aircraft weapon. This weapon was based upon the M5 light tank chassis, but modified to fulfill the air defense role. It was then utilized as indirect and direct fire against enemy troops, vehicles and fortifications.…

They brought all the siege weapons that they could possibly bring. I saw them bring trebuchets, ballistas, mangonels, battering rams, siege towers, and ladders. This force was determined to take this mighty fortress, but we were determined to defend it. The massive force of attackers was well-equipped, and they charged at our castle. The wasted no time in getting up that hill, but the the archers and I were shooting away at them through our arrow loops.…

I vaguely recall noting the grey of his uniform and fairly sighed with relief that we were not on the same side. Piteous cries reached my ears as more and more fell around me. The sides were locked in an epic battle. We raged valiantly on, a fine machine of war, for what could have been a year or a minute.…

The Vietnam War 1.)The statement of ,“The war can’t be won unless the people support it”, is an invalid statement. It appears so that some of the people in America have not supported any war that their military have been involved in, but does that mean that the United States have not won? When one acts upon something without support it does in fact make it harder for them and the situation entirely but do people not succeed? The support of the war helps because then the “war effort” is greater, the supplies provided for the troops is greater, and the probability of winning is in fact greater as well.…

Introduction There are many different views and opinions of the war in Vietnam. It was one of America’s longest, most controversial conflicts to date. In a war that lasted over a decade it is no surprise that lessons were learned on all parts. This paper will discuss what I feel is important lessons learned by Americans from the following arenas: diplomatic negotiations, presidential leadership, and cultural/social context. Diplomatic Negotiations For there to be success during diplomatic negotiations, there must be clear goals for all parts included.…
