Intoxicated adults are extremely difficult to babysit and keep out of trouble; especially, when they cause troubling situations that affect everyone. I learned this while helping my boyfriend, Drew, watch his father while his mother, Rebecca, was at work for the night. At the beginning of the night, around five in the afternoon, my boyfriend, Drew, and I decided to take his father, Scot, to Jefferson’s for dinner. This seemed like a harmless idea. Once we arrived at Jefferson’s, a sports bar in Fort Payne, Alabama, Scot ordered a Budweiser; however, prior to leaving his house, he had drank two of them already. On the way back to Drew’s house after eating, Scot had drank another beer or two. When we returned to Drew’s house after eating, Scot decided that he wanted to drive around in the Rhino, so Drew and I followed him while riding the four wheeler. Scared to death, I hopped out of the truck along with Drew and Scot. The police officer began to yell at us; then, he proceeded to ask Drew for his driver’s license. The officer asked why we turned around if we were not trying to hide anything. Scot decided to tell the officer that he forgot his dip, which the cop found in his pocket while searching Scot. Then, the officer searched Drew, but he did not find anything appealing or important to the situation. While the cop was yelling at Drew, the officer realized that he had went to school with Scot, and they began joking with one another; needless to say, Drew and me were highly confused about the whole situation. Once we realized what was happening, we began wondering how this would end. Finally, Scot and the officer were done catching up on old times, and the officer let Drew go with a warning.
