So this year when we heard that the All star game was at soldier field my dad emailed him. He responded the next day. He said he would see if he could get us tickets discounted.
So about two months after my he emailed him we
October 6th, a sad day in Cubs history. The Cubs entered game four of the World Series leading the Detroit Tigers 2 games to 1, and needing to win only two of the next four games played at Wrigley Field. A local Greek, William "Billy Goat" Sianis, owner of the Billy Goat Tavern and a Cubs fan, bought two tickets to Game four. Hoping to bring his team good luck he took his pet goat, Murphy, with him to the game. At the entrance to the park, the Andy Fran ushers stopped Billy Goat from entering saying that no animals are allowed in the park.…
We had just won the Gopher State Baseball Tournament. We shook hands with the other team and gathered our things from the dugouts. We went to get the trophy and banner to take pictures and no one could stop smiling. After, that we got sized for our championship rings, our personal trophy for winning. We would be presented them at a Twins game that was a couple weeks…
The city of Chicago was still. It was Game 7 of the World Series, and the Cleveland Indians were hosting the Chicago Cubs. 108 years of pain and sadness could be wiped away. Everyone was somewhere, ready to watch one of the biggest games of baseball to ever be played. I was at a watch party with a bunch of diehard Cub fans.…
The highlight for the Cubs that day was Aramis Ramirez the third baseman for the Cubs who hit a homerun* that game. Other than that the Cubs lost that game and I didn’t care because all I could think of was going to run the bases. So after the game I went now to field level I looked around imagining someday if I could play on this field. I remember feeling the padded wall down the right field wall and looking at the visiting bullpen mounds.…
During that very special baseball game I was beasting at shortstop. Every time a ball was hit my way I would either catch it or scoop it up off the ground depending on what type of hit it was but if the ball came my way my fans already knew what was going to happen. My fans already knew that I was going to get the batter out or get a double play and most of the time I did. It felt so great knowing that I helped my team achieve excellence and earn victories. My team had a very strong and unstoppable defense and if it wasn't for our teamwork, we wouldn't have had such a successful season.…
I have deep passion for the Chicago Cubs baseball team. I have been taught to love them since I was a little boy. I have always loved them since I have known baseball. From wanting to be the Cubs on my little league team, to watching them with my father at night. From listening to the stories of my father and grandfather, to hearing the history, present, and future.…
My dad was very excited that I would start playing travel baseball, but I on the other hand was nervous. I looked back on the website and…
The year was 1906 and the Chicago White Sox were playing the Chicago Cubs in the World Series. The Chicago White Sox ended up winning the World Series that year, but the Cubs had shown they were a capable team and retaliated in 1907 by winning the World Series. They went on to win in 1908 as well, putting them ahead as a stand-out team in the MLB. However, despite these two early World Series wins, the Cubs have not managed to emerge victorious again.…
The game of baseball has always been in my life since I was a child. My love for the game began when I was five years of age signing up for tee ball at the local little league. As a child, I would imagine myself as a professional ballplayer. I would mimic my idols every chance I had or I would dream of myself being in a critical situation to win the game and to make history. Now, I am chasing my dream by trying to become one of those greats who played the game.…
I'm not a coward nor a scaredy cat that fears. I just had a feeling that something would happen, just not to me at baseball practice for some reason. My gut usually told me the truth. So I had a really strong feeling about something would happen.…
Baseball was the majority of my summer weekends, and I would have it any other way. Long weekends at hotels all across the state from Battle Creek to Frankenmuth, we played baseball where ever it was to be played. But these stages could not prepare me for where I was about to play next. The University of Dayton baseball stadium, the nicest natural field I have ever played on. It was beautiful from the seats, the mound, the outfield wall, it was all gorgeous.…
the crowd around us cheered about his victory and you could see the pride in my boys' eyes as their father the superhero handed the fly ball to them. Our home team lost that day but, we did not care, we experienced something for the first time together that day and no one could take that from us, as we headed home, my oldest son asked "Can we go to the next home game? " My husband and I looked at each other and said "yes son, we sure can. " Our family now had something to do that we all took pride…
After completing six and a half innings, we head into the bottom of the final inning as the Aquinas Blugolds are ahead of Lake Country Lutheran 4-2. As a young child around the age of 5, I started playing baseball, and just like almost every little boy or girl, I always had that dream about making the game-winning shot in basketball or making that diving catch to win the state championship in baseball. My dream was almost fulfilled on June 18th, 2015. The season started in March and went all the way until June. At the beginning of the season, I wasn’t sure how much playing time…
Although, I still couldn’t forget about that car before the game. Before we left the stadium, my dad stopped at a souvenir shop and got me a baseball. I knew it was special, because I could say I got it from a Yankees game. As we approached the exit, I saw a golden plaque in the distance that caught my attention. I asked if I could go quickly see it.…
E is for Extra Cardinals Tickets I was about seven years old when we received free Cardinals tickets. My sister’s friend’s family couldn’t go to the game so they gave us the tickets. We were about eight rows behind the backstop.…
