My first leadership experience came from being a voluntary work as a life- and management skills trainer, where I had to deal with different background, minds and studies trainees, to be the leader of my own session, the thing that let me build my communication, discussion and presentation skills. During this period I have met so many people with various way of thinking, where I succeed dealing with them each time. After that I started working as assistant supervisor in a psychological support centre for the international medical corps, where I had the chance to deal with very professional and creative people, the hardest thing was being accepted as the youngest member of the team and to be known as a leader , but being in this atmosphere…
I have been a part of the Future Business Leaders of America since middle school. One of the challenges that I had to overcome in becoming ready for college and career was "speaking up". I have always been a quiet person and I was never a fan of the spotlight. I would do almost anything to escape talking in public, but my teachers and advisers saw something in me that I would have never seen.…
My favorite job by far has been my internship as a career mentor in the Office of Career Development at my school. As a career mentor, my primary duties are to help students with resume/cover letters, job/internship search and just general life goals questions. This internship has made realize why I love working with students. It’s such a great feeling when a student comes and they may be confused about their major or how to make a resume for a job; but by the end of the your time with them, you just see this light bulb go off in their head and they have this look of “I understand”. Even though it may be a very small interaction, I feel like I have made a small difference in their lives and I have helped them somehow.…
Discuss a leadership experience you have had in any area of your life: school, work, athletics, family, church, community, etc. How and why did you become a leader in this area? How did this experience influence your goals? I was playing soccer with my friends in my neighborhood just a normal day everything looked as usual. But while I was playing soccer I was hearing a noise, not knowing if I am the only one who is hearing I felt deluded for a moment and stopped playing soccer and headed to the direction where the noise was coming from.…
My response to this selection is that Hornak made right decision, even though it took her long time to realize, but it would be hard for me If I were to change my career. It would be hard for me because I know I spent a lot time to study and it costs me a lot too. But I personally believe that we all need money, but I would also want to pick the major that I would enjoy in and which would make me proud. For instance, I like to help others…
Three careers that would be well suited for me are a cost estimator, an operations research analyst, and a conservation officer. Two of these careers involve quantitative thinking and mathematical skills, while the third career involves enforcing laws and regulations and working outdoors. Due to my interest in working outdoors I have chosen conservation officer as the best career opportunity for me. The first job I researched is a cost estimator. I researched this job because it involves mathematical skills on a daily basis.…
I have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with perfect grammar and spelling. I am also a fast typist. In addition to my academic work, my seven years of experience in the customer service industry, including three years as a team leader at Quick restaurant, gave me experience in responding efficiently and effectively to customers enquiries, solving problems, multi-tasking, and maintaining a high standard of customer service in a fast-paced environment.…
My career goals are to be successful and to change the current status of women around the world. This would not be easy as many have tried, but I believe that technology will be able to change the lives of many. I developed these goals through experiences with narrow-minded family members that do not believe that I am able to achieve all the I have because I am of the female…

Everyone has a reason why they chose the career they did. I like to think my reasoning is special, sad but special. Some people decided it because they just like the job, but I had a life changing experience that decided it for me. I decided in fifth grade that I wanted to help people when I grow up and that has been my plan ever since. The exact careers I have picked has changed, but they all had to do with helping people.…
If I would have been the project manager, I would have focused more on the implementation process. With this project being the first of its kind for Higher Ed, it needed a lot of research. While the project manger did a great job and knew a lot about the process, the service team did not. The service team would be the primary supporters of the systems once it was implemented. Support would come in the form of training documents, knowledge base articles, or general hands on training.…
I join Let’s Get Ready as a Site Director in my freshman year of college. At this time, I was already going through a big transition from high school to college and it was very tough. After becoming a Site Director, I became more responsible with my time and I gain a lot of leadership skills. As a Site Director, there is a lot of work to be done. All of this work needs to be done in a timely manner and of course my school work does too.…
At times I think it’s often quite normal for new teachers to become overwhelmed their first year teaching. Especially at a school where there may not be enough resources to adequately assist them, this leaves many new teachers to fend for themselves. In my experience, it was my mentors that made a difference in my career, and prompted me to pay it forward and it is these mentors that I try to emulate in my own mentoring. A mentor serves as a professional role model for the mentee.…
Many assume if they can't succeed without jeopardizing health and life, they lack certain abilities. Everything is possible with some planning, care, and facilitation. Planning is an important part of life. I plan my day, my week, and even my year to help myself set goals and make sure I'm following the path for my success. I like structured plans so I could assess and prepare.…
