Denotatively, loyalty means “The state or quality of being loyal; faithfulness to commitments or obligations.” 2 ”Faithful adherence to a sovereign, government, leader, cause, etc. The term loyalty derives “loyal” is also derived from the Latin word “legalist.
I began quest for personal definitions of loyalty.
The first person I happened to ask was my Mom. No, I will not state her age. Yes, she is over 55 and in my humble opinion very wise. Her response was “give me your definition first!” After giving her mine, she gave me hers’ and the two turns out to be quite alike I must say. She said, “Loyalty is being faithful and steadfast regardless of circumstances or feelings!”
