“The journey is what brings us happiness not the destination.” (Millman) This quote can be interpreted in many different ways. When applied to Peaceful warrior one can deduce that it could mean when people chase dreams it is not the destination or the goal that beings us the most joy but it is the path that we take to get to that goal that makes us the happiest and that benefits us. When one applies this quote to the theme of “The value of purpose and dreams” it could be determined that it the dreams one sets are not what matters it is the path and the things someone that matters most. First off, one of the earliest examples of “The value of purpose and dreams” is when Dan attempts the triple flip and fails. That part in the movie shows that no matter what someone’s dreams are they must keep going and that just having those dreams has value. The dream is very important but what is more important is the journey they take to reach that goal. Every time Dan failed at his flip he always got back up and tried again. Him doing that shows how determined Dan is and how much that journey means. His couch kept trying to make him stop attempting the flip but Dan would never quit. In the movie Dan, had said “A warrior does not give up on what he loves, he finds love in what he does.” This quote could be interpreted as the dreams about doing things one loves comes from the work and effort they put into achieving their dreams. Dan would always get up so he could achieve his dream because his dreams are important to him. The Next example of this theme is when Dan breaks his legs in the accident. Everyone told him that he would never be able to do gymnastics again and he would only be able to walk if he was lucky. Dan was determined to make his dreams of being in the Olympics, winning a gold, and proving everyone wrong, a reality. Dan did not just start walking again over time he started to walk without a cane or anything then eventually he started practicing again. Dan did something that most people though was impossible. When Dan had gone back to the gym to start training with the team and to show everyone he still could do it, His coach had told him no and that he would not be able to do it anymore and that he should not even try. …show more content…
In the peaceful warrior, they show many examples of this theme weather it is through things that happen or things that are said in the movie. Throughout the whole movie Dan is chasing his dream of becoming a gold medal winner in the Olympics. Due to his hard work and dedication Dan would come to achieve his goal and win that gold medal with his whole team. As this dream comes to an end a new dream takes it is place and starts. Dreams are always there no matter how small they are very important. It is the dreams that give people that purpose so, without those dream they would have no purpose.
