If she had done so, she could have avoided the deposition and her career wouldn’t have been ruined. If she couldn’t immediately settle out, a crisis management team should have been hired immediately. The team could have had her release a statement apologizing up and down for her actions in the past, and remind the public that these are remarks she made in the 60’s in the Deep South. These slurs were used widely in that era, and the statements she made can never go away, but she is a different person than she was in the 60’s. Many fans commented on the photo saying it was “adorable and cute”, and there was even photos of Bobby Deen in hair and makeup, getting made into Ricky. This was an innocent Halloween photo from 2011 blown out of proportion, but it was posted just 2 years after her N-word scandal. If Paula had a crisis management team, she could have avoided the entire situation completely. Paula’s team deleted the photos and didn’t make a statement, which was probably the best decision. In 2012 she started a charity called “The bag lady foundation”, to provide food and education to feed the hungry, and help women get back on their feet.
Student Insight Paula Deen is an American household name. Butter is the first thing that comes to many minds when talking about her. Harmless, sweet, butter. She is a silly, southern belle-type woman who had her entire world flipped upside down by her past comments. I do not think that her team handled any of the aftermath well at all, and if they would take a look at my advice, they could learn a thing or two about how to properly handle this
