Paula was extremely happy that the man of her dreams had finally proposed, but her parents did not accept Jimmy for one minute. (Deen It Ain’t… 29) It only took a few months for Paula to convince her parents to let her marry Jimmy. Paula’s dream of marrying Jimmy became a reality on November 28, 1965. Paula and Jimmy had the picture perfect marriage on the beginning, but that all changed when Jimmy started drinking every day.
