15 Gary Oldman Was Flat-Out Rejected From Acting School
Gary Oldman is famed for being one of the most versatile actors in Hollywood and is well-known for his roles in films like The Professional, The Dark Knight Trilogy and Harry Potter. But believe it or not there was a time when Oldman struggled to even get a place in acting school. In the late 1970’s he applied to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) but was flat-out rejected. They even added that they thought he should find something else to do for a living!
But he didn’t hold a grudge. When asked in an interview if he ever reminded the RADA of this slight he simply replied, “The work speaks for itself.” It sure does Gary.
