In these situations, they found that qualitative research has the ability to offer complex textual descriptions about the way students are experiencing a specific research related issues. This provides them with information about the human side of an issue that are: contradictory beliefs, behaviors, emotions, opinions and the relationships of various individuals. These methods are effective in identifying tangible factors to include: socioeconomic status, gender roles, ethnicity, social norms and religion of respondents. Their roles in the research may not be obvious and requires determining them through looking at the underlying trends.
