Personal Narrative-Footprints On Our Hearts

Footprints on Our Hearts My husband and I were walking down 2nd street in Long Beach one Saturday with our Husky Kaya and Labrador Kaylee when I noticed a young girl and her mother walking towards us. The young girls ' eyes were full of excitement as she saw our dogs and began to run towards us. I watched as her mom yelled for her to stop and could see the dismay and anxiety in her eyes as she watched her daughter running towards us. The girl stopped and slowly walked back to her mom and after a minute or so the mother came up to us and asked if her daughter could pet Kaylee and if Kaya was friendly. As she did so, Kaya jumped playfully towards the small girl and began to lick her hand as Kaylee backed away behind my husband and growled. The …show more content…
In the 3 years I have had Kaya I have not taken her to the vet once other than for her regular vaccination visits. Whereas Kaylee has gone to the veterinarian over 6 times for health issues. Kaylee has visited the veterinarian for gastroenteritis four times and twice for two different parasites, Giarrdia and Cocidia. She has also been taken two times to an emergency veterinarian. Once for a cut on her foot received while running away from one of my friends in a riverbed and another time when she got a fish hook in her nose after being in a garage for two seconds. In all the dogs I have had Kaya is definitely the best either. She will eat anything from dirt, to her regular dog food, to a juicy stake. On the other hand, Kaylee sometimes decides she just does not want to eat even if you put a cooked egg on her meal. There are many things that make having a dog great. Having someone to come home to at night, having someone that will always love you no matter what you do, and having a best friend for life. However, every dog is different in so many ways and some things can make a dog easier to deal with than the other. Having a dog that eats well, doesn 't require multiple vet visits a year, and that loves all other dogs can make for an easier pet to care for, but just like humans they are family and I will always love them both and the life we share

In today's society the average person goes through high school, then repeats the cycle through college, gets their degree and goes out into the “real world”. They meet someone, have a family and move out to the suburbs. That is the path that most americans take throughout their long journey in life. Contradictory to that some of the wealthiest people took the risk of taking their own path and profited very well from it. “Have the courage to follow your own heart and intuition” (Steve Jobs).…

She was the sweetest dog you’d ever meet, though I was young when we had her so I don 't remember much. When we moved out to New Mexico in 2004 she came with me and my mom, which must 've really been hard for both of them since we were driving from florida. While my dad was still working in Florida and trying to sell the house he would video chat with her and she’d bark and wine. Around 2006 she had a bad hip and was half blind and deaf but still such a great dog.…
