Audiophiles are back in the groove, and the ears are once again focused on the beckoning crackle of a needle on freshly spun wax. To quote Robert Wilonsky “ The dead business model lives again.” But more surprisingly, it is not just Rock, Pop or Jazz they are selling but club music as well! Needless to say this sparked my interest in going back to pressing vinyl. Additionally, I also found out that, unbeknownst to me, some peers were still buying vinyl on line and in the stores. This sealed the deal and I made the leap of faith and decided I wanted to get back in the vinyl business. Now, the search was on to decide what would be my first release. For two weeks I patronized local clubs listening to what people were vibing off of. There was a consistent sound club goers was receptive too and that was tech house. One tech track that got my attentions was Rene Amesz “Big” And something I noticed a DJ did which rarely happens, he played a song twice within a two hour time frame and both times people took notice to this amazing track and I knew right then and there, this tune would be the perfect track to start up the label vinyl again. After contracting the original record label, I was lucky to secure a licensing deal. For my re-introduction into the vinyl marker, I pressed the track on clear vinyl with a mylar jacket.
