How has art adapted to the modern technological age? An important factor of art is displaying it so it can be admired, but each style of art has different ways it can be stored for later uses. In contribution, long-term, the environment is by some means affected due to the media used. Generally, art can be beautiful, strange, and many other things, but it's the journey it captures that holds meaning.
Preservation of artwork is vital to upkeep the piece’s integrity, but the location of storage may be physical or virtual. With traditional art, storage places must be physical because the piece is drawn, sculpted, painted, etc. all of which take physical space. Traditional art takes up large amounts of physical space, even if organized, therefore can be more difficult to access and use. Yet, if put on display the masterpieces are accessible and transportable. Contrarily, digital arts are always stored as files on a machine or online in a server. Most traditional art pieces consist of materials that are recyclable. To illustrate, paper is formed by trees which can be reused as cardboard, similarly, clay sculptures are reformed into bricks or pottery. Conversely, any tools or supplies that aren’t recycled , are disposed of, typically through incineration which causes pollution. On the contrary, digital art is created by computers made with metals, plastics, glass, software, and electricity. Notably, most materials for digital art are recyclable, except for electricity. As a majority of processes used for creating electricity to power a device, release carbon dioxide, which in large amounts, can damage the Earth’s atmosphere and the environment.
