The eminent Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. once stated, “Whatever your life work life’s is, do it well …” I believe my life’s work is to pursue a career as a pain medicine specialist. Pursuing employment as a pain medicine specialist is my second long-term goal in view of the fact that it takes over ten years to successfully complete all the needed education and special training. A pain medicine specialist is a physician that provides relief to patients who suffer from acute or chronic pain. The acute or chronic pain a patient is experiencing can be treated through electrical stimulation, medications, nerve blocks, and therapies. The first mode of preparation to become a pain medicine specialist is to obtain a bachelor's degree.
