I strive to maintain all A’s in my AP and dual credit classes. By doing so, I believe I will be more prepared for the strenuous college curriculum and my desired future doctoral profession. By having responsibilities, time consuming hobbies, and high standards for myself, I believe that I will achieve my goal of becoming an orthodontist and operating my own practice. I was inspired to pursue this profession because of my experience getting braces in junior high. I wore them for about nineteen months and honestly enjoyed the experience. My doctor was skilled and enthusiastic about his career, as well as eager to answer any questions I had. I enjoyed watching the transformation of my smile which is why I desire to allow other people to admire their own transformation and grow in the confidence of their smiles as well. In order to do so, I will need to undertake the undergraduate as well as postgraduate adventure of college, which comes with a price. The TXTA Foundation scholarship will aid me in doing so, and allow me to take a little stress off my shoulders in how my education will be paid
