What many people do not know about being an organ donor is that they can still have an open casket funeral; donation is only considered after a patient has passed away, and they can save many lives. Donors can still have an open casket funeral which is another worry to some. This is a common misconception as well. Bodies are clothed for a funeral; therefore there would be no signs of the donation (citation). Once placed in the casket there should be no signs of a donation.
