This causes people to automatically believe that their opinion is wrong if it doesn’t correlate to the group’s opinion. As a result of this mindset, people stop relying on their own thoughts but instead, turn towards the group’s thoughts. These individuals who do this are well aware of what they are doing. The cause of this, is usually due to them wanting to fit into a group, so they feel the need to agree with everything the group does. When people fall into this trap, at first they don’t tend to realize the damage it can do. People begin to lose focus of their actual beliefs and focus mainly on what their group wants. They stop voicing their true opinion, and in some situations, what might actually be right. When humans allow outside pressures to become more of an influence than their own thoughts, they lose their individualism.
