LAB REPORT- Comparing and Discovering the Properties of Animal and Plant Cells
INTRODUCTION:
Scientists have developed classification units among livings. One of this classification types is kingdoms. It represents widely covered societies, including Animalia and Plantae. It is known that all livings are composed of cells, from the cell theory, so animals and plants also have a cell association. The cellular structures of animal and plants cells are clearly different. These structural differences will be rediscovered through this experiment. It should not be tasted or smelled. It has a negative effect on skin, eyes, and lungs. Gloves were used during the procedure of preparation of slides.

PROCEDURE:
 For onion cell:
1. Peel off the brown part of the onion
2. Cut a small section of the onion skin.
3. Place the skin in the centre of the slide.
4. Place a drop of water on the onion skin.
5. Put the cover slip on the onion skin starting from the one side of it.
6. Gently push the cover slip towards the skin to remove remaining air bubbles.
7. Use a paper towel for cleaning the excess water.
8. Put the slide under the microscope.
9. Apply the necessary adjustments for a clear view of the cells starting form a lower powered objective (x40 magnification).
10. Slowly increase the magnification for more detailed images.
 For cheek cell:
1. Take a clean toothpick and scrape the inside of your cheek.
2. Slide the toothpick on your slide to put the cheek cells.
3. Place a drop of methylene blue on the cheek cells.
4. Put the cover slip on the cheek cells starting from the one side of it.
5. Gently push the cover slip towards the skin to remove remaining air

I was able to use a light microscope with knowing the names of the parts of the microscope. The pre knowledge gained by the pre-lab information paper helped me to understand the experiment purpose more. I was able to observe the shape of the different types of cell, and the chosen hypothesis was proved. Yet there were some uncertainties that I was managed to connect. The cohesion forces between the cells were supposed to connect the cheek cells, yet they were separate from each other. I was not expecting to see any organelle beside nucleus, cell membrane, and cell wall for plants. But a small vacuole was detected in a plant cell. It is possible since they become the biggest organelle in a plant cell further in their life. Moreover, I realized that plant were slighter bigger, because I saw the plants cells more easily than animal cells in lower magnification. After a research on the internet, I found out that average plant cell size can differ from 10 to 100 micrometres, while animal cells have a range for 10 to 30 micrometres. When the cheek cells were being observed, I have seen a currently replicating cell from the cells taken from my cheek. It was fascinating. I was not expecting to see an incident like
